“Great location and reasonably priced.”
Lovely staff, very nice room, great location and great breakfast. I recommend staying here. I also stayed at the Marquis which is great but pricey. This hotel offers a great location and is less pricey. Fewer amenities than the Marquis, but very accommodating.

My husband and I were to meet here before we both were off again on seperate journeys. As luck would have it we were both delayed coming in to Miami and my husband, a Marriott Titanium after several years as a Marriott Ambassador, let the JW Marriott Miami know I would likely get to the hotel prior to his arrival. I am always grateful for that when I am allowed a check in prior to him. On arrival I found the bell staff to be very friendly; the check in girl to be great, although she gave me different information than my husband got when he decided to book here over the Marriott Biscayne Bay and the JW Marquis, and that was over the club lounge being open late on this particular Saturday night after our flights landed. We were told on the phone it would be open, the check in person said it closed at 10p. The 'upgraded' Inspire room was nice, but not renovated recently, despite her 'sell' on that and each time anyone spoke of that on the phone, or the site when booking, this room is not a recent upgrade and if it is, someone has beaten it.. as the walls and carpet are in need of ..more renovation. The walls are super thin. It's always sort of 'knock' to status that is costly in the scheme of what a loyal member spends in one's loyalty and the upgrade is literally.. not. Particularly when you have to fight for the simplest of things. Wait for it. My husband requested a simple bottle of wine be placed in the room; I didn't know this until he asked after I was in the room past 1045pm & about to order room service, since the club lounge was not open per the reason we opted to stay here. A knock at the door and here is a wine being delivered & it's the wrong wine. I am a second level sommelier and this was a white Pinot Grigio. I sent it away but was asked to sign the bill. I refused. This seemed to make 'Joseph' irritated and he said he was going to be off soon'. I pulled up the in room dining menu and the Meomi my husband ordered was less and morever this was a pain due to the fact that when Joseph did come back, he said they didn't have the wine we ordered and could not price it correct yet he had the same bill to sign with the Pinot Grigio and demanded 'someone sign this bill!'. He sort of intimidated me and it was now after 1115pm and I wanted him to leave me alone. I also let my husband know who was now on his flight from NY to MIA and angry. The next night we tried to order gelato to the room for dessert, the same happened. The menu was not right and we were charged differently than we should have been. The good points: The M Club is nice but the water needs to be stocked without asking a maid in the hall to do it. Two days in a row there was no water and I finally asked the maid in the hall to stock it. The M Club does have a great nightly appetizer set up and 'hidden' wine; also ask for them to open a fresh bottle if they don't. Most Clubs let you know there is wine.. Not sure why the wine is hidden when it's a honor bar and you have to sign the bill? The gym is great and clean. The pool is very nice! I loved Drakes and the staff is also very nice as is the breakfast staff in Isabellas where if you are an Elite of Platinum ? and above the buffet is comp'd. Room service.. well that leaves a LOT to be desired. This JW Marriott is in a great area to walk in but again the walls are thin and the Inspire room of all it's 'renovation' is a typical JW Marriott room so save the upgrade talk. We had a room that over looked the pool and listened to party people next door until 5am next door all night. I also wrote a review on Yelp to which I got a canned response from the GM who asked that I be patient regarding the over charge on a wine I did not drink and the overcharge on our bill. My husband reached out to Marriott corporate for the overcharge and literally I guess the next step is with Bonvoy AM Ex for charges on something overcharged.. Fix your in room dining menu and use it as training point for your staff on delivery. Return factor.. meh. Likely will stay at The JW Marquis where we wont be misguided.
