“great stay”

Beautiful fantastic stay! ONLY problem is we waited for 15 minutes to check in! That was extremely frustrating but after that, perfection! Rooms are clean and well appointed, spacious, well laid out. Great location for the area. Very comfortable beds.

Traveled with family for a reunion of sorts. First time at this property which was an exchange by a number of Marriott owners in our group. Started and ended poorly. Cons: Confirmed reservation has NO room designation so they can ASSIGN at their liberty (?), no real activities or mixers, no beach/play area/or things for kids to do except get in the pool, nene droppings everywhere which limits grass area to a no walk or play zone (barefoot no, evening stroll no, daylight watch your step closely or stay on concrete walk, ocean view very limited supply as primarily view is building into building or parking lot, non functional really small lanais, smoking area (??) at Bldg 2 near BBQ/dining area, golf is not on property like pics but in drive distance, no shuttle to the hotel any longer so good luck getting parking down the road for a beach day, dining experience limited/pricey/mediocre, management aloof and inexperienced to handle disgruntled guest experiences, pre-arrival requests and room placement for large groups (we had 4 2B rooms) was unattainable despite making it 9 months before arrival...too many to list but YOU get the idea. in short place was NOT for US and we all won't return. Pros: We have another week in 3B units unit in Marriott Lihue area. Whew. Rooms were clean and adequately stocked or requests all met for additional needs, Staff is friendly it was just the upline that lacked luster, check in went smooth and was informative

“Meow...Westin Princeville not for us”

We annually visit Kauai but this is our First time staying on this property. This was a 2nd week of a three week vacation on the island. We annually visit Kauai but this is our First time staying on this property. This was a 2nd week of a three week vacation on the island. We are long time Marriott Legacy owners and this was an exchange with II. Check-in, pools, spa, workout room (includes steam and sauna) and bbq were quite nice. Despite having a studio unit it was adequately stocked, clean and Hawaiian style comfortably furnished. Parking is easy and check in process/local offerings were useful. Grounds are well maintained, have a lovely view but there is no easily accessible beach. The major downfall that tainted our guest experience was the location of one of two designated smoking area to our room and the dining/BBQ public area for Bldg 2. ...in short the response received by Arceli T to the smoke effects on our traveling party. was challenging. The property identifies as a Breathe Westin environment and is purportedly a smoke free property. Not so! In our case, certainly a bit of coaching on effectively managing the room inventory is appropriate as would be how to efficiently address guest concerns. A quality response, a pleasant/non-degrading vocal tenor and empathy goes a LONG way to moving toward an adequate and de-escalated resolution. With numerous choices for a quality stay in Kauai...we will not be back to this location.
