As you can see, we visit this place regularly, and its location is its big attraction. It’s central, it’s across from the beach, and it’s clean. Please read my other reviews as they will be the same! On this occasion, it’s had a change of owners, and it’s had a bit of a refurb….there are certain things that could do with looking at…. There’s no longer breakfast, which was a nice touch, and the sunset bar opens when staff are available (and prices are sky high - we had one, then went down the road where it was a few dollars cheaper). Parking is no longer free, so factor that in as it all adds up. All in all, it’s still a great base to stay, but it needs a bit more love to bring it back to as it was (clean and tidy the pool area, bring back breakfast and free parking, stop pot smoking everywhere and reduce your bar prices).

“Gem of a place”

Despite some of the reviews, I felt it was a decent place. Friendly staff, beds comfortable and vinyl flooring in room. Bathroom, kitchenette and room furniture did seem a bit dated. Marina view was nice. We loved the tiki bar but surprised it wasn't busier. Pool and hot tub were good, too. Easy... more

Despite some of the reviews, I felt it was a decent place. Friendly staff, beds comfortable and vinyl flooring in room. Bathroom, kitchenette and room furniture did seem a bit dated. Marina view was nice. We loved the tiki bar but surprised it wasn't busier. Pool and hot tub were good, too. Easy walk to several conveniences, beach and restaurants. There were no hot breakfast offerings although it did appear there could be (renovations?). Free coffee in lobby.

“Nice location”

This was more like 3.5 stars, but overall we had a lovely time. I think this was once upon a time a Best Western, and I used to stay here many moons ago. This was more like 3.5 stars, but overall we had a lovely time. I think this was once upon a time a Best Western, and I used to stay here many moons ago. While I had no complaints about that place, this was more of a location-location-location thing. Across the street from the beach; nice sunsets, walking distance to a few bars…and next door to a Waffle House (which to me is worth its weight in gold…or waffles…whatever you’d like to get paid in). I get that as a hotel you need to nickel and dime things, but to charge parking in a small lot seemed a bit insulting. I get wanting to keep any riff raff out, but the bar they boasted was never really open. The pool seemed nice. No place to charge electric vehicles. It was nice, but definitely not worth the daily rate. I’d expect more attention to detail from the housekeeping staff, TBH.

We had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and really enjoyed it. loved the location and at that time it was a solid reasonably priced option with a rooftop tiki bar to watch the sunset as a bonus. a Flash forward to this year…despite some renovations being done, It feels as though they’ve cut a lot of corners and in the process, have dragged down the overall “feel” of the place. For example, a VERY minor thing, but i changed the toilet roll and the holder itself had dried paint all over it. if you’re spending money to refresh the place and renovate, it’s a shame that it looks like things were just painted over haphazardly. cleanliness…glad to see the carpet gone! there is the appearance of “surface” cleanliness but don’t look too closely in corners and in the shower. there was also a set of false eyelashes stuck to the picture frame beside the bed. easy enough to miss i guess *cough*. The tiki bar was not open on a Saturday night and the patio itself was locked so there was no access. we had to ask the front desk to let us up to enjoy the sunset. The music on the other nights was quite loud as others have mentioned, which was not the case previously. Dogs are allowed, however, on one of our evenings someone had left their dog alone in the guest room and the barking was non stop for several hours. The front desk said they had tried to get in touch with the owner with no success. Noting that the same guest was there the next day, i’m not sure what the repercussions were for the dog owner. although smoking on the property is not permitted , there were several guests smoking on their balconies or vaping at the pool and staff did not enforce. positives: location! in summary, it was OK. location is perfect for me. i wasn’t too sad to see the breakfast not offered as it once had been, but with the additional fee for parking, the suspect cleanliness and the general apathetic atmosphere, i will likely not return.
