This is our fifth stay here. Has consistently been an outstanding stay. Superior customer service. Rooms sparkling clean. Furnishings after renovation are somewhat Art Deco-ish which may cause others to think it is “old.” All the details of a 5-star hotel. The executive lounge is one of the best we have enjoyed at Marriott properties. Great bed and comfortable sofa in room. Key feature for us is the garage under the hotel. We like having ready access to our car for a variety of reasons. Valet is a nice option otherwise.

“Good Marriott choice in Houston”

Great location right across from the Galleria so lots of restaurant choices. Check-in was easy and front desk clerk was super friendly. The Executive Lounge is a big perk. Great location right across from the Galleria so lots of restaurant choices. Check-in was easy and front desk clerk was super friendly. The Executive Lounge is a big perk. Nice food choices for breakfast and good coffee. I never had an issue finding a spot to sit in there either. Room was comfortable, nice bedding. My only issue was I was two rooms away from the elevator, on the same side as the elevator and you can literally hear and feel the vibrations, even with a white noise app. I’d ask for a room farther away next time. But that was my only issue. I’d say here again.

I was really nervous having our first night away from our kids while they had a sleepover with their grandparents but the staff we encountered from check in to check out were fantastic and made us feel so at ease. Kendall at check in was so sweet and kind, made check in quick and seamless, we really felt welcome! Later we stopped at the Sundry shop and Sybil had a great sense of humor and helped us understand how the destination fee worked and got us on our way really quickly. And on our way out Felecia was very helpful and nice, topping off a great stay. The valet guys were also very helpful, but I unfortunately didn’t catch their names. They were quick and professional, I even forgot leftovers in our car (being pregnant I NEEDED them, ya know haha) and they offered to go grab it for us so my husband didn’t have to go walk to the car and get the box. Overall it was a great experience, and will definitely be back!

Stayed at the JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria for the third time and it did not start off well. After a flight delay, we arrived at the hotel after midnight and had difficulty checking in. Even though our reservation included Executive Lounge access, the person at reception (who did not have a name tag) said she didn’t see it in the system. Even showing her the confirmation which clearly stated the access didn’t convince her. After much back and forth, she finally grudgingly gave us access for one day and said that we would have to speak to a manager the next day for access the rest of our stay. When we got to our room, the extra bath towel and face towel we had requested (which ironically the receptionist had seen on our reservation) was not there. Otherwise the room was fine, relatively spacious and clean. Much better the following day, we spoke to Amy at the front desk who was very helpful and friendly and corrected our keycards to give us the access to the lounge for the rest of the stay. She also apologized for what had happened the previous night. Housekeeping did a nice job with servicing the room and then also gave us the extra towels that we had asked for. The Executive Lounge worked well for a quick, hot breakfast and the JW Market in the lobby was a convenient place to grab a coffee or pastry and the staff there was also friendly. Overall, the experience over the rest of the stay overcame the initial bumps that we had.
