I usually never write reviews, unless it’s bad. But great hotel experiences deserve reviews too. Just checked out of the Embassy Suites in Downtown Houston. Great stay, clean rooms, friendly and professional staff members! This was my first time here in Houston Texas, and I enjoyed everything about my stay. Wanted to give a huge shoutout to Ms. Nicole Johnson at the front desk! She’s very professional, approachable, helpful, accommodating, and all the above. I thought she was the manager here. Definitely made my stay here better! I’ll definitely be back.

During a recent business trip, I had the opportunity to stay at the Embassy Suites in downtown. The hotel left a strong impression on me with its modern and clean environment. This establishment is meticulously maintained, offering rooms that are both clean and quiet. Each room is a suite, complete with a separate living area and bedroom, providing a spacious and comfortable stay. One of the improvement was the bathroom. The hotel has opted for stand-up showers instead of traditional tubs, making the bathrooms more spacious and accommodating. This small change significantly enhanced my overall experience. The location of the Embassy Suites is another advantage. It is within walking distance of several restaurants, making it convenient to explore dining options without the need for transportation. However, it’s advisable to look up these restaurants beforehand to plan your visits. Despite the many positives, there was one drawback. The parking fees in downtown are quite high, which added an unexpected expense to my stay. Additionally, I encountered an issue with the hotel's shuttle service. On the day of my meeting, I needed to leave for work at six in the morning, but the shuttle service was not operational at that early hour, forcing me to walk. In summary, the Embassy Suites in downtown offers a pleasant stay with its modern amenities and convenient location. However, prospective guests should be aware of the high parking costs and the limited hours of the shuttle service. Despite these minor inconveniences, I would still recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers.

We stayed two nights nights at this hotel in late September. While our room was clean and operable, a visitor would come away feeling as if they were taken to the cleaners. Given its location to the convention center and proximity to other full service hotels within a block or so away (Hilton, Marriott, Four Seasons), this property is competing against, you just get less in return for the price you pay. Front desk staff were perfunctory but not terribly friendly nor seem to want to want to provide any additional assistance, should we need any. Unlike the Hilton and Marriott nearby, there is no self-parking. There is only valet parking, for $55 per night. I get that downtown parking is pricey but to only provide valet at a steep cost to overnight guests just felt wrong. As noted earlier, our rooms were clean and fixtures worked fine, but we only received 1 set of bath, hand and face towels. After downloading the QR code to learn about this property's services, we found out that housekeeping was only done every 4th day, so we had to request for a clean set of towels during our second day to freshen up to go to the wedding we were in town for (since the towels we used earlier that day were still damp). There was no clock in the sleeping room, so one would have to rely on reaching for their phone, if a visitor happens to wake up during the night and want to check the time. The property was undergoing some renovations while we were there so it is hard to tell that the operable but heavily used furnishings were on the way out. Our 6th floor room overlooked Austin Street. I understand that if you are staying at a hotel in the middle of downtown, you will hear noise from the outside and it will be noisy, but this property should invest in glass that is thicker than normal glass for that reason. The noise from traffic and sirens were loud into the night and early morning hours. I cannot imagine how much louder it would be if we were staying in a room on a lower floor. If we ever have to stay in downtown Houston again, we'll be staying at one of the other hotels that are within a couple blocks of this one. There are more choices out there.
