The top reviews of Hotel H-Wood are: Great location on Sunset Blvd, however the downside is there are quite a number of unsavory people in the area and hanging around the hotel. 5 min walk up to Hollywood Blvd, close to Melrose ave, Santa Monica Blvd, Fairfax etc which provide great shopping. Plenty of public transport around with buses and Hollywood/Vine/highland stations as well as the fly away bus to LAX for $8. Numerous places to eat nearby including In n Out burger and Ihop. The hotel itself was reasonably quiet, bit of traffic noise which is expected given the location. Room was a very generous size with two double beds. While the room does have a separate bathroom the sink area is located in the main room. Bathroom consisted of a toilet and a shower over bath, which was clean but a little bit old. Breakfast is served daily in the hotel reception area from 7- 9am where you help yourself to croissants, biscuits, cereal, apples, juice and coffee. No serving utensils provided which was a concern given the Covid19 crisis at the time. Two negatives for the hotel: Wi-Fi is not good, I suspect this is due to the building materials which makes it difficult to get coverage inside the rooms. The other negative is no luggage storage, which was a massive negative for us. Our flight was 8pm and we had to checkout at 11 am. I was advised if we wanted to stay later a fee was required. I was advised they do not have associations with other hotels in the area who could assist with storing luggage for a couple of hours, nor did they know anywhere who provided luggage storage. As there wasn't any lounge/reception area we had to leave with all our luggage in tow to LAX..
