“Fantastic stop along the way.”

Headed home o the New River Gorge and stopped the night before to get a good nights rest in a real bed. Mission accomplished! Roxanne at the front desk was friendly and up beat the rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is actually very good. Great place!

We stayed at this hotel after a long travel day. We did NOT have a reservation and stopped in at 5:30 pm. The front desk staff when asked if they could accommodate us made a face and started checking.. well all they had was a double queen suite and it was $279 .. ouch but ok. Then told me that it wouldn’t be ready for 30-45 minutes well ok. We would get something to eat. I paid and was told they would call me. I went outside and realized I forgot my receipt. Went in and a manager was at the desk also, he said the room was ready now. Gave us the keys and receipt. The rooms were nice and clean, comfortable beds with a sofa in the front room. My negatives are for that price and no breakfast.. nada.. nothing. They of course have a restaurant. Then upon check out there was $35 in taxes. That wasn’t disclosed before when I asked how much. My fault I know. $17 for occupancy tax?? Learned my lesson for sure

This was not a great stay but they "unexpectedly" brought in a new manager our first day, so we won't totally say never again. We stayed four nights. This was not a great stay but they "unexpectedly" brought in a new manager our first day, so we won't totally say never again. We stayed four nights. The door on our room is warped and stuck...it was very hard to open, and the flip lock was not aligned to work. The first two nights after coming in we had to head back downstairs as our key cards did not work. In four days, our room was never serviced although they advertise daily service on the webpage. We understand they were very short staffed, and the cleaning crew was working very long hours (11-12 a day). Naturally, we met some not so happy people. We took our towels out each afternoon and one of them would bring us fresh ones so we met several of the staff. On the last night there we met a new employee, Alexis, who was helpful in getting our bath wash refilled and fresh towels and emptying our trash. We really appreciated how nice she was considering she had been working 11 hours and was trying to get done and leave for the night. KUDOS! One of the managers did apologize and offer us 2000 bonus points (we haven't seen them yet) but at least she tried. The breakfast manager, Brianne, was always bright eyed, helpful, and friendly. You can tell she loves her job and wants her guests to be satisfied. Again...we hope the new management can improve the current situation and, as we hope to return to the area, we hope to see great reviews going forward.
