“Enjoyable Stay”

Hotel was very clean & easy to find. Staff was pleasant & professional. Evening social & cooked to order breakfast also are great perks. We also enjoyed dinner at the on site restaurant. Will definitely plan to stop here on our next trip thru this area.

Our client booked us into this hotel. A few decades ago when working for others on big budget projects, this was my go-to place to stay when on the road. In the intervening years, the blush is no longer on the rose. First, was the $10 a day parking fee. Always a ripoff, no matter the property. Upon arriving late afternoon, I encountered a long line of people before the check in desk. Just past the lobby, was trademark majestic interior of the hotel. Only one clerk on duty. However, to my great surprise, the clerk knocked out the line in no time and I was on my way to my room. Just past the lobby, was trademark majestic interior of the hotel. My room was spacious, as expected, complete with a large separate living room. The suite was perfect for meetings - and large enough to act as a temporary office for admin work. Everything was clean and there were plenty of amenities. The king size bed and pillows were very comfortable. Hot water, and lots of it, was instantly on tap. The room was quiet. However, the hotel and my room were tired and not aging well. The carpet in my room was stained in several places and wear and tear was evident throughout the suite. (see photos) The TV's were small with low resolution displays. On the bright side, the staff was, without exception, excellent. All were friendly, fast, and professional to a fault. The included breakfast, and it was a real breakfast unlike the continental type in many hotels, was first rate. The managers cocktail party was also included, but I had to pass due to work. The burger on the inhouse restaurant menu was outstanding. No other way to describe it. Perfectly prepared, huge, and just bursting with flavor. Lastly, one very cool thing happened. Upon returning from a late night shoot, I was in the parking lot beginning to unload the high dollar equipment that always goes inside at night, the shuttle van drove by. The driver stopped and offered to shine the van's lights so I could see what I was doing. Talk about customer service!
