We have stayed here several times over the past few years due to the location and dearth of good quality hotels from which to choose. It is a good, not great, hotel. It checks off, positively, the most important attributes to us: 1. comfortable beds and good quality sheets; 2. good AC; 3. good blackout curtains; 4. a nice gym that is open 24-7 and which has a decent array of cardio equipment although not enough weight / strength training equipment (relative to most other hotel gyms, especially for this type of hotel). 5. a microwave and empty mini refrigerator are very handy to have as well as the extra little sink in the living room area. However, there are several features that make staying here very difficult: 1. the rooms are extremely cluttered with old, worn furniture. The couch and chair fabrics are so worn and dirty looking that we do not want to touch much less sit on them. There is a narrow chest of drawers in the bedroom under the TV but it's hard to access. There is a piece of furniture in the living room area on which sits the TV with one drawer and then a bunch of open space; there is no way to use this and it takes up a lot of space. The desk is shoe horned between the couch and the window and is very tight. 2. there is almost no space to put suitcases, carryons, clothes, etc. The ONLY counter space is the desk and the counter by the little sink in the living room area on which sits the microwave and coffee machine & coffee junk. We had to ask for luggage racks and yet there was almost no space to put those; it took us a while to figure out how to set them up and put suitcases on them in such a way that we could access them and still get around. We had to clean all of the surfaces and use the desk as a carry on suitcase stand. I also had to remove the coffee station and clean that filty counter to be able to use that counter space also. 3. The hotel had a sign at the desk when we checked in that there would be no water in the rooms from 10 am - 3 pm daily as they were starting the hotel refurbishment. This is not acceptable especially when there was no notification on the website and or when we booked this reservation. The desk clerk was able to find us a room that would not be affected by this but this would be a huge problem and should be clearly communicated before a customer commits to a reservation. 4. The bathrooms are very old. The fixtures, the wall paper, the shower in the tub, etc. Very dated. This hotel is in need of refurbishment so good that they are doing this.
