Be sure to ask where your room is located - the front section of the property, or the rear, older section. The rooms in the rear section (actually a completely separate property that was acquired) are...ok, but their age shows in numerous ways: The faint musty smell when you first open the door, the alarming slope of the walkway, the creaking, uneven floor- in a historic building, these would just be part of the "charm"...but this isn't a historic property. It's just old. To drive from the front parking lot to the rear lot, you have to go through a "pass-through" - basically they removed a room on the lower floor of the building, and paved it - and if your truck is tall, it won't fit. Anything over about 7 feet tall, nope, not gonna make it. To be fair, some renovations have been done - the bathroom vanity has a nice engineered granite top, and the shower has attractive tile work. The wall-mounted A/C unit is at the back of the room, in a corner, but it works well and isn't too loud. The TV was pretty small (I've seen larger PC monitors) - it wouldn't be a problem in a smaller room, but it's like 15 feet away from the bed. The bed - well, it was a bed. The pillows, though - worthless. Tiny, flat, no support. If you drive there, TAKE YOUR OWN PILLOWS.

It smells ‘old’ in the rooms and the doors are tricky to get in (need to lift the handle instead of pushing it down, I struggled until a very kind housekeeper found me!) the hotel itself is old and dated, my room had the worst door that was hard to get into and had to push almost slam on it. the check in old lady was rude, i said “hi im checking in for amy R” and she said “i don’t understand are you not her, i need an ID” i said i am amy R. the worst part was i had friends meeting me out here from different parts of texas and i got a double room just in case they needed to stay. well one did and the next thing she said was “im going to let this slide but it’s one car for one room” that’s not on the website anywhere. had i known we’re going to be treated so rudely i would’ve went to the super 8 across the street. don’t make up rules that aren’t on the website. be transparent. website and the email says check in at 4 check out at 12. well that wasn’t the case either.
