Overall, a good experience. Nice room, quiet, helpful staff. We chose this hotel since the Hampton Inn (our usual choice) was too expensive. Complimentary coffee in the lobby available only during the morning vs. all day like some other hotels. No complimentary fresh fruit available. Very high prices for snacks and drinks sold in the lobby. The female staff member behind the check-in desk on the evening shift did not smile once during our three night stay. She was civil and business-like but never smiled with us or anyone else that we saw. She would often set out the "Away from the desk helping others" sign but she was just in the back room. The day shift people were smiling and friendly as was the woman running the bar.

“Frederick HiltonGarden Inn”

A nice comfortable quiet motel. Decent breakfast. Clean rooms. Still has a business center. If You stay, consider eating dinner at the Italian Restaurant Manlu, maybe 2 blocks from the Hotel Parking Lot. A superb Italian Dinner!

“Temporarily handicapped, room provided challenges.”

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but definitely need updating. We were there for a family wedding. I had broken my leg earlier in the year and fully expected to be fine by the time of the wedding. I was not. When I called about changing my reservation to a handicap accessible room, those rooms were already booked. I asked if the showers had grab bars and was told they did. The shower was a tub shower and had one grab bar in the front outside edge of the wall. In my current situation I cannot step over the edge of a tub. I tried sitting on the edge of the tub and swinging my legs into the tub but with only the one grab bar I could not stand up and I am not weak. I was terrified of falling. I had to have my husband help me. For the rest of the stay, I washed my hair and “washed up” in the sink because I couldn’t do the tub. Showers definitely need to be updated to walk-ins; or at least update a few more rooms for handicap accessibility. Breakfast was only just ok and not included with room. Bathroom fan was very loud. The smoke alarm had a flashing light on it that was annoying. Positives were that the bed was comfortable and towels were fluffy.

We have stayed here twice and I would put this property only in the “average” category. The rooms do need some updating. The cleanliness is questionable. There were crumbs on the sofa and hair/ladies’ hairpin in the bath/shower ceramic soap holder. The breakfast was substandard. Fruit was only two types of melons, scrambled eggs looked old and clumped. I ended up with corn flakes.☹️ They do cook eggs to order. There is an IHOP within a block if you have time for a better breakfast 🍳 at a better price.
