The best description I can give for this hotel is “tired”. Most Hampton Inns are bright and airy, and while they may be basic, they provide a decent room at a decent price. The best description I can give for this hotel is “tired”. Most Hampton Inns are bright and airy, and while they may be basic, they provide a decent room at a decent price. Here, everything was cramped and threadbare, the carpeting was worn and dingy, and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was also substandard, even by the low standards of a Hampton Inn breakfast. My recommendation would be “look elsewhere”, if at all possible.

This property is on the edge of a vast and ugly shopping mall, but that does mean that food and shopping possibilities are plentiful and nearby. This property is on the edge of a vast and ugly shopping mall, but that does mean that food and shopping possibilities are plentiful and nearby. It's also right next to I-20 and an easy drive to TCU through some very scenic neighborhoods. I appreciated these qualities more than the hotel itself, which is one of the more cramped Hampton Inns I've stayed in. The free breakfast was welcome but I saw many guests taking plates of food back to their rooms because of limited seating. My single room was probably more spacious than most, due to its accessible features. I didn't sleep very well due to difficulties controlling the room temperature, which seemed to have only two settings: no cooling at all or freezing AC full blast. Finally, I like to exercise when I'm on the road, but both treadmills were not working in the small fitness center, definitely not cool.
