“Top Notch Customer Service @ Fairfield Inn & Suites McDonough, GA”

Every two years on the last Thursday in June, we have a Burton Family Reunion in a different state and city, and for our June 2024 Reunion we decided to have it in Georgia somewhere in the vicinity of Atlanta since we had never sponsored one on the East Coast. One of our committee members located and got in touch with the Fairfield Inn & Suites in McDonough, GA which none of us had ever heard of before. Before I say anything about the excellent customer service experience, I’d like for it to be known that this particular hotel is the cleanest and most well-kept Fairfield Inn and Suites that I have ever set foot in and it’s just an absolute gorgeous place both inside and outside. The outside is breathtaking at night with all the beautiful Palm trees 🌴, flowers 💐, and rock gardens sitting under the perfect lighting. At any rate, my grandson and his fiancé got their wires twisted and booked their airline flight from Michigan to Atlanta on the day before the start of our Reunion and would need a place to stay that night. I had planned on driving down from North Carolina on the morning of the official start date but all of a sudden I was in a dilemma. My grandson and his fiancé needed a place to stay, so I made the six-hour drive and went straight to the hotel and received a call from my grandson as I was pulling up to the hotel. They were at the Atlanta airport wondering if I had made it to McDonough yet. I walked into the hotel and mentioned to a lady at the front counter by the name of Michelle that I was a member of the Burton Family Reunion and that I was in a terrible situation. She very patiently listened to me explain the situation I was facing. She was able to not only accommodate him and his fiancé, but she also reserved a room for me since I was also a day early arriving. What Michelle did for us that day was the easy part in hindsight because guess what; all 11 of my family members who I reserved rooms for showed up the next day 3 to 4 hours before check-in time. Once again, I was back at the front desk begging you guessed it, Michelle if there was any way possible to get all of them into their rooms prior to the normal check-in time. She said hold on a minute and she picked up the phone and started reaching out to members of housekeeping and asking them to alert her as rooms became available. It took up about an hour of her time but she got it done with a smile 😊. This level of customer service breeds success for any Business, and employees like Michelle who go the extra mile to satisfy customers are a Rare Breed. My apologies for writing a book here, but some situations require us to be thorough and this is without a doubt one of those situations. Make no mistake, every staff member whose path I crossed including the nice ladies in housekeeping had pleasant dispositions and were kind, but Michelle was The Ticket. Please find some way to reward her for her extraordinary customer service skills? I will conclude this review by adding that the breakfast at this particular Fairfield Inn & Suites is 2nd to none. This hotel hosted our family reunion this year. The experience was wonderful! The staff was exemplary! Shout out to the hotel event coordinator, Jewette McNeal! Shout out to the front desk staff too; AJ, Patrick, and Shamya! I didn’t get his name, but the breakfast room staff member was very personable as well. Everyone was so patient, friendly, and helpful. We would definitely come back and do it again.
