What a gem! A truly hidden gem in Chapel  Hill. I'm not sure if it is a deliberate attempt by  the university to not popularize this as much  as they can but let me tell you, if you plan to  visit 'The Triangle' for pleasure being the trio of Chapel  Hill/Durham/Raleigh and are flexible with  being 20-30 mins drive from whatever brings  you to town, stop and book this place,  It rates itself as a 3 star but I think that's not  opproriate. This is easily a 4 star facility and if  they umped it a little more with service, it can even make 5 star.  The grounds: 30 acres of wood, gardens and meticulously manicured landscape. It sits on a slight hill and if you venture north / east in the  building ( which is a maze), there's a lovely  balcony that has some nice views in addition  to balconies on east, south and north facing  parts of the building, lovely for that morning  coffee - breakfast is included by the way, which was decent, nothing too spectacular. There's a swimming pool with outside seating,  there are garden pergolas in a couple areas on the grounds, tree lined walk trails leading from the conference parking lot to the hotel and garden. The hotel/service: Lovely, clean, tranquil, the rooms are very decent - more functional than pretty, balcony rooms are better for the full experience. The price is reasonable considering the site of the property, which is part the UNC Chapel Hill Business School and is called the Paul Rizzio Conference Center which seems specifically to be targeted to academic/business conferences. However, this could be a lovely wedding, family reunion, or retreat location for the weekend. Around the historic Dubose house, which must be amazing from peeping through the windows, is a beautiful garden designed by the original owners of the home and built in the early 1900s (their graves are a few yards south of the garden). There's some interesting history tied to the hotel site being that it is on a former plantation and where former slaves and owners are buried in the wooded area to the east. The center/hotel is in Meadowmont village and is a short distance to their city center with a few restaurants and shops, a truly idyllic master planned community that adds to the serenity and calm of the area. One thing, the front desk should do a better job at is listing the available amenities upon check-in. A few tweaks and this is easily a getaway hotel. It checks all the right boxes. If I'm back in area, would definitely stay here again.

“Tranquility in the midst of chaos!”

Lovely property, close to UNC campus, breakfast was great. Lovely setting in very close proximity to the chaos of college move-in. Nice place for empty nesters to relax. Service was excellent. We only stayed one night but will definitely be returning.

“Beautiful, comfortable, and exceptionally clean!”

This was beautiful and one of the cleanest, most comfortable places I’ve ever stayed at! Unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to take advantage of many of the amenities, but it is surely worthy of its high ratings. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area.

“Beautiful place”

The overall experience was terrific, the place was super clean and very quiet. We had a problem with the shower and had to change rooms twice so for that inconvenience I didn’t give a 5 star rating. Husband is a UNC alumni so it was a great place to stay while visiting.
