“Good Pre-Cruise Stay”

This was a good pre-cruise stay. As with all other hotels, there were plus and minus. One positive aspect of this hotel was that there was 2 shopping malls/areas in walking distance. One positive aspect of this hotel was that there was 2 shopping malls/areas in walking distance. This means that you have a variety of places to eat and places to pick up last minute things for your cruise vacation. I also liked the cookies at the front desk when you checked in. I did not use the pool, laundry or gym. Now for the negatives: one thing I noticed is that there are no suites at this location. I like having a separate sitting area from the bedroom area. That is just my personal preference but I can survive for one night. Additionally, I think there is some confusion so I am here to set the record straight: as of June 2024 there is no shuttles of any kind. There is no airport or cruise shuttle. You will have to Uber or Lyft for your transportation needs. Third, there is an employee shortage here and it shows. There was only one person handling the breakfast area in the morning and I feel that it was a lot for one person. It was a lot for one person to empty the garbage, refill the coffee, the utensils, the food and the wipe down of tables. I observed this on a Saturday morning. On the same morning, I noticed that no one was at the front desk until 10am which I found crazy. I actually saw the employee show up for his shift and take his place behind the desk. One more thing and this is more of a complaint about the Hilton Honors program. There has been so many cutbacks from the daily housekeeping to the welcome gift. The welcome gift usually was a choice of snacks like chips, cookies and a beverage. Now it is room temperature water…that you have to ask for. Hospitality business ain’t what it used to be. In the end, I would stay here again for a one night, pre-cruise stay but no longer than that.
