While visiting Texas, I was one night only in Corpus Christi. And I want to complete some reviews here, which are some sort of negative. Actually, I want to differentiate a little. Firstly the Hotel is not new, but it was clean and the rooms are fine. Bathroom small, but sufficient. The thing what turns everything into good, is the location and the breathtaking view on the USS Lexington and the direct beach access. However, what that stay propels into outstanding, is the entire Hotel Crew. Incredibly friendly, attentative and just awesome. Regardless uf check in and out, breakfast Service [thx Lauren] housekeeping, Pool area, it was unbelievable. We highly recommend, if you may accept not an up to the latest room Equipment but focusing on the Real Deal. Thanks for making our stay outstanding.

“Good Stay in North Beach”

DoubleTree is your best option in North Beach and is a clean and comfortable option. Parking was a little confusing as I prepaid and posted signage didn’t cover that scenario. You register your car via text but can get a code at the desk to cover you. Front desk also gives you restaurant coupons… more

DoubleTree is your best option in North Beach and is a clean and comfortable option. Parking was a little confusing as I prepaid and posted signage didn’t cover that scenario. You register your car via text but can get a code at the desk to cover you. Front desk also gives you restaurant coupons if you prepay that one too. Hotel is clean, needs some updates in some areas but worked well. Restaurant staff was top notch every morning and night of the stay. Food there is good and the bar was well stocked. You’re next to the beach but the lobby areas were clean and you didn’t get any kind of ocean smell.

Well, I am conflicted with the 3 stars of this review. Why? Well, there were some good things about the Doubletree by Hilton Corpus Christi Beachfront. One of those good things is in why it has beachfront in the name. You are paying for the view and the beach access which is really great. If you are not wanting to swim directly in the Gulf of Mexico, Corpus Christi Bay is a way to satisfy the desire of getting in the saltwater and hearing the seagulls and soft sound of the ocean without facing the full fury of the Gulf. The room facing the bay has a balcony, with two plastic chairs on it and no small table to hold drinks. Let's talk about parking. You have to pay for it, but it does not guarantee you will have a parking space. The lot is small. The lobby was clean, bright and inviting. The room was clean, but not an exceptional design for a Hilton property. In fact, the room and the bathroom especially were showing age and exposure to the elements. Rust on some of the door jams, the bathtub was sort of old and scratched (not a walk-in shower), the plumbing was not strongly secured to the panel and the handhold in the bathtub wall was not very well secured to the wall either. A basic white shower curtain kept the water spray in the tub. The shower was nice and hot though and if getting sand and sunscreen off is the goal, the shower does this fine. The bathroom otherwise was clean. No complaints there. There was only a single plastic chair in the room. There is a small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. The weekend breakfast buffet was also not complimentary, however, the crew that handled the buffet were really on the ball and were super friendly and very polite. The supervisor too was making sure that the food was brought out and ready and she engaged the patrons often with friendly banter. A very inviting buffet of the usual stuff one finds such as scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, cereals, rolls, coffee and juice etc. The one item that was totally baffling and sort of ruined our stay was the room air conditioner. It worked fine and kept the room cold, but the thermostat just clicked and the unit turned on and off constantly. If you can't sleep due to air conditioner noise, do not stay here. I counted the wall unit coming on 20 times in one hour! So the takeaway from staying at this hotel is there are probably better choices and ones that offer a higher quality room and bathroom for the money. But you will find no harder working staff dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible.
