This is a nice resort. It was not crowded, which we liked. The island of Edisto Beach is very touristy. This particular resort is owned by Wyndham and naturally we had to sit through a sales presentation. From the start, we made it clear we weren't interested in buying into their program, since we are Bluegreen members. Wyndham is probably the most expensive vacation club, and not that it's not worth it, we just don't need to be members of 2 clubs. Our 90 minute presentation turned into 4 1/2 hours and all we received, besides a headache, was a promise of no RCI fee on our next vacation. They just wouldn't take no for an answer.

We've stayed here before and enjoyed it enough to return. We booked a 5 night stay through RCI. First, when we arrived, they had no record of our reservation, despite all my confirmation emails. After about 1/2 hour, we were able to check in, although we had to pay a cleaning fee (first time that had happened.) The unit was very nice (Marsh Point) and a very short walk to the beach, which was great for morning and evening walks. The only issue with the unit was that it had an exceptionally small bathroom. Not even enough room to keep our toiletries in there - had to carry them in and out. The living/dining are was huge, so no real need for such a tiny bathroom. The last issue is the sales pitch. We were talked into it for a "refund" of our RCI exchange fee (probably a credit.) It went on forever and we made clear that we were happy with RCI and didn't need another membership. It's now been a month with 2 followup phone calls and still no credit on our account. Love the area and the resort, but customer service seems to be lacking across the board. Unfortunate.

“Property is very tired looking”

There wasn't an elevator to the 3rd floor unit in the Fairway Villas section. That should've been advised at check in. There wasn't an elevator to the 3rd floor unit in the Fairway Villas section. That should've been advised at check in. This particular section is older and not as appealing as the 2 newer sections of the property. Not many activities scheduled, pool was always crowded with smaller children. The unit was in a quiet corner overlooking a pond with lots of turtles which the surrounding neighbors fed. There were also reindeer games on the golf course in the late afternoon each day. Apparently some of the permanent residents feed them so they show up at the same house everyday and wait for the owner to come out on his deck and feed them. The area was beautiful and car trips were taken to explore the area. I went over to see the beach at low tide and drove through Botany Bay. Quiet, peaceful area and enjoyable for relaxing. Got over to the shag festival. Was not allowed to bring my stanley water bottle in with me but I was permitted to buy water inside. I kept going back to my car. Apparently that rule wasn't for everyone as many had their stanley cups, beverage containers, etc. It was extremely hot that day and I wasn't about to pay $2 per bottle of water when my Stanley held 40 oz. Entertainment was phenomenal at shag fest.
