The entry way lobby and bar area are beautiful. The elevators and small and old. My room was very small but that was fine. The window overlooking the street was very dirty and curtains were dingy. The carpet is in serious need of an upgrade. The bathroom has been updated. The shower was nice but the water pressure was not. Also, the room is so small that the toilet is right next to the bed, so it’s almost impossible for anyone else in the room NOT to hear you going. Weird. Also, my room smelled like I was right next to the pool (I wasn’t.) All of the staff that I encountered were all very nice. The bellman who helped us with our things was great! Also, the additional resort fee is a joke for such an outdated hotel. Overall, I didn’t mind the hotel but as I said, the rooms are in need of some major TLC.

Whilst the lobby is beautiful, the rooms are little outdated. The staff who worked in the hotel itself were friendly and helpful. Bottles of water were given to bring to the room and ice was available on certain floors. The lifts were clean but small which is understandable given the hotels rich history which was given to us by one nice member of staff. However and it's a few big howevers 1) when booked we were informed of a refundable incidental fee (which we get) to be held on our cards. This was $50 per night. But when we arrived they charged us $100 and had the 50 crossed out on the paperwork yet their website still states $50. When this was pointed out we were told that the website had still yet to be updated which is false advertising. Also was told it would take 5-10 days to be refunded however this amount was deducted from my account and is not pending as resort charges normally are. Plus if an international traveler you may have to wait up to 28 days for the "refund". 2) The NiX restaurant does not do individual bills. If you are a group or more than a single person they will not issue individual bills, it is only one bill which can be difficult if there a few of you in a group. 3) The staff in NiX are not friendly, they take their time to deliver your order yet rush you once you receive your order. Some people hadn't even put their fork and knife down and their plate was taken from them. The Manageress was very rude and was sighing and tutting under her breath and literally threw a receipt over the counter at one lady Whilst the hotel is at the top of the Mag Mile there are plenty of more hotels that the staff are much nicer and don't overcharge/hide true resort fees from staying guests
