I recently stayed at Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown River North and overall, it was a great experience. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of downtown, close to fantastic restaurants, shopping, and major attractions. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Check-in was smooth, even though we arrived late, and valet parking, while pricey at $69, was convenient. However, I did run into an issue when ordering food through Uber Eats. The hotel doesn’t allow deliveries to be brought directly to your room, so you have to pick them up at the front desk. When I went to get my order, the staff initially told me they hadn’t received anything. After a bit of confusion and a long wait, they finally found my order, which was frustrating. On the bright side, the complimentary breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options, including a live omelet station that added great value to our stay. Despite the minor inconvenience with the food delivery, our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I’d recommend this hotel, especially for its prime location and amenities.

The location is perfect! I easily walked to Ohio Street beach, restaurants, The Bean, and the L. The staff is also friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is fantastic - a variety of options are provided, including a station where staff will make you a fresh omelette. Our room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We requested a room on a higher floor and the view was pretty good too! I was pleasantly surprised to find that each (adult) guest is given two free (alcoholic) drinks each day between 5:30 and 7. They also provide free snacks during this time. We had a late train back to NY on the day we checked out, and we were able to store our bags securely in a locked room off the lobby area. The price is really the only downside of this hotel. It is one of the most expensive places I’ve stayed in, and yet the decor is typical bland hotel style. These are not things I would normally bother noting, but with higher cost comes higher expectations. Our room had a window facing outside, but there was also a large internal window between the living room and the hallway. We kept the curtains closed the entire time, but other rooms didn’t and it was a bit strange! During the breakfast & check-out rush the elevators could be a bit slow / packed. House keeping also seems to come later in the day. My partner arrived the day after me, and I had made a request the night before to have the bed made & a towel replaced before noon (so she could also enter a fresh hotel room). By the time I returned to the room with her around 12:30, the room hadn’t been touched, although when we came back later that evening the room had been done.
