“Most Convenient Location I’ve Ever Encountered”

Sept. 2023 I stayed 3 weeks at CITY SUITES HOTEL in Chicago. It’s next to the CTA Brown and Red Lines ‘L’ station. Just in the block of Belmont Ave. that the hotel is located are at least a dozen restaurants. At the end of the block across the street is a “mini” TARGET store with a CVS Pharmacy inside. Aside from the ‘L’ train station, there is the # 77 BELMONT Bus. The Red ‘L’ line has stops at both MLB stadiums (CUBS and WHITE SOX). The Brown ‘L’ line provides a very scenic ride amongst the skyscrapers, and rides completely around the world-famous Chicago LOOP. It provides a spectacular tour of Chicago’s amazing architecture for the low fare of $2.50 (or less for seniors, disabled persons, etc.). The hotel is old, but comfortable, and has an excellent, helpful 24-hour staff. Sept. 2024 Area Manager Maria is marvelous. She’s very friendly and helpful and always wants every guest to have a wonderful stay. All of her front desk staff, including Amy, Noel, Tony, and the others are also wonderful. The housekeepers are excellent … friendly and quiet. The location is superb on Belmont Ave., just about 100 feet from the CTA ‘L’ train and bus station. Within the block the hotel resides in there are many restaurants, shops, and a small Target store with a CVS pharmacy inside. I have stayed here for 3 weeks each last year and this year. I LOVE CITY SUITES! It’s the most conveniently located hotel I have ever stayed in for all the places I wanted to visit in the great city of Chicago.

“Perfect for the price”

This review is much like others I have read. It only matters if you are one to complain. I parked through the spothero app at 3211 N Wilton Ave, about 30 seconds walk from the hotel, once I read other reviews about parking. The coffee was hot and fresh. The room was clean. The mattress was very firm and the pillows too big to use comfortably. The elevator is small and I had a room on the 2nd floor so I used the stairs about 1/2 the time. The shower wasn't great. This is not a 5 star hotel. I paid $200 to stay in a clean room of an older hotel with quirky decor that spoke to this 80's girl at heart. We were attending a performance at The Vic theater just around the corner. This more than suited our needs. Surrounded by restaurants and little shops, we had plenty to see until our concert started. The walls are thin and the upstairs neighbor stomped like an elephant in roller skates. I wouldn't stay here longer than a couple nights but as someone who has paid 3 times as much for an overnight in Chicago, I'd choose city suites any time.

“Disappointing but Well Located”

The location was the hotel's best feature - next to the Belmont station on the Red Line made exploring the city easy. Thankfully, we didn't hear the trains when in our room. The hotel felt tired and dated. The room was small and bathroom tight. The staff seemed unhelpful and unfriendly.
