This location should be used by their corporate office as an example of how to run a hotel like well-oiled machine. My wife and I were there for more than a month - while waiting for our house to be built. It was probably one of the best stays we ever had anywhere. We have stayed at dozens of motels & hotels in the USA - as well as Mexico, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, much of Europe and even Morocco. We have stayed at most "chain" hotels + several timeshare resorts. We never heard of Sonesta ES before, but we were glad we booked with them! They are pet-friendly (we have two cats), offered a free hot breakfast, room service every third day and the staff -- all of them - were second to none. The front end staff, housekeeping, food/breakfast and maintenance personnel were super-friendly and clearly worked well as a team. In this day and age, that kind of symbiosis is nearly impossible to find. Other locations should send their managers to the Charlottesville location to gain knowledge that they could take to other locations for training purposes. My wife and I were truly impressed and won't hesitate to recommend Sonesta ES to anybody. Five stars to them!

“Def coming back”

Very comfortable, clean and not too pricey and seriously the nicest people work there. Everyone was all smiles and super accommodating even when we showed up for breakfast at the very last minute. I was so impressed that I signed up for the Travel Pass rewards program on the spot!

The hotel offered excellent value, spacious rooms and good amenities. The staff were generally very good and special mention for Kathy Brown, Front Office Supervisor who could not have been more helpful. The hotel offered excellent value, spacious rooms and good amenities. The staff were generally very good and special mention for Kathy Brown, Front Office Supervisor who could not have been more helpful. The property is very well located next to Baracks Mall and basically 10-15 minutes to anything in Charlottesville. We would happily stay here again. The only suggestion I would make is the rooms need a slight refresh.

I've stayed at the Sonesta Suites numerous times because it is one of the few hotels in the C'ville area that offers two bedroom suites. I've stayed at the Sonesta Suites numerous times because it is one of the few hotels in the C'ville area that offers two bedroom suites. I usually stay on the first floor because it is the most convenient for me - my mother uses a wheelchair. This trip I had to stay on the second floor and the room was awful. Our room appear to have been renovated only with new countertops - the wood cabinets are old and need a good cleaning. The trash in one of the bedrooms had not been emptied which makes you wonder if the room was adequately cleaned. Breakfast is usually good and plentiful. One of the few places with tortillas, salsa, etc. The location of the hotel is excellent - it is behind the Barracks Rd shopping center so there are two grocery stores, restaurants, and other shops.
