“Great for a one night stay for PNC Pavillion Show”

I stayed here with a friend in late August 2021 for one night to attend a show at the PNC Music Pavilion. I was able to snag a 1 BR suite for only $20 more than a standard studio. This meant we had 2 separate beds, a private bedroom and 2 separate bathrooms in addition to a living room and kitchen. The positives: Staff could not be friendlier Room was spacious and clean Bedding was comfortable Heating and cooling worked great Fireplace in the unit (we didn't use bc it's August) Only about 15 minutes from the PNC Pavilion They work with a local Shuttle Service company that kept us from having to drive around in traffic to get to the show There are a lot of restaurants nearby I like the privacy of having a private outdoor entrance (townhouse style - not "motel style" like another review described") The Negatives: The property is worn (but clean). The light switches for the bathrooms are in different rooms which is dumb. The light switch for the bathroom sink vanity is in the bedroom, the light switch for the toilet/shower room is outside the room near the sink vanity. The couch had a very bad odor. It smelled like a mix of mildew and vomit. The physical location is horrible. It is on a very busy street that has a giant divider median and only 1 direction for traffic. If you miss your turn or need to go left out of the property you have to make a right and go all the way down through multiple no turn traffic light intersections and all the way back around. We missed the entrance on the first approach and had to drive all the way up and back around the traffic lights/medians. Took 10 minutes just to get into the property. Same when we wanted to go next door to Burger King. We had to go out and the all the way back around all the medians and traffic light intersections to get back around to the hotel. The sink vanity lights were burnt out when we arrived so I had to get ready in the dark-ish. I alerted the front desk and by the time we were back from our show they had been replaced, so that was great. We slept through the free breakfast, unfortunately. I would stay at this property again for the right price, but to be honest the traffic patterns and how difficult it was to get in and out I would not want to stay at ANY hotel on this street again. I gave it a 4 because I got better than I expected with our room, and the value for what I paid. On a side note not related to this property: The shuttle service got us to and from, but it was the scariest passenger experience of my life. No covid protocol, and the driver basically ignored all traffic laws on getting us back after the show. In her defense it started pouring rain and there were still 2 or 3 vans full of paying customers waiting for their ride in the rain so she was hurrying to get back asap to get them out of the rain. But it was at our shuttle's expense. It was around $52 plus tip roundtrip for 2 adults to go 5 miles each way.

I have visited this property often. I enjoy the exceptional customer service from Roxanne. She's very friendly and works well under pressure. I encountered alot of issues during my last stay. She helped resolve the issues expeditiously. I also spoke with the manager the next morning. He was also very friendly with excellent customer service skills. He definitely understood the situation and also handled everything very well. I've actually had good encounters with most of the staff at this property. I will say it's time for a refresher with interior and exterior. Hopefully, the stink bugs are no longer an issue. These bugs were everywhere I had to change my room. This was the first time I had an issue like this at this property.

“Needs updates, not Marriott Standards”

Hotel is badly in need of upgrades. For a Marriott property, I expect more. Chair upholstery was worn & stained, bathtub drain was rusted, vanity counter was stained and faucet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. Check-in staff was rude and had an attitude. Won't choose again.
