I recently stayed at the Marriott Chapel Hill and had a great experience. One of the highlights of this hotel is its proximity to Wegmans grocery store, which was an awesome plus for me. Additionally, being very close to the highway made it incredibly convenient for travel purposes. The overall ambiance of the hotel was quiet and comfortable, allowing for a peaceful stay. Moreover, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the accommodations, which added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend the Marriott Chapel Hill for those seeking a convenient, comfortable, and clean place to stay.

“I would stay here again”

The Good: The staff are wonderful. Can't say enough about how well our questions were answered and needs addressed. While the hotel is older and the rooms are worn, it is also very clean. All aspects of our room from the bathroom to the beds to the kitchen to the utensils were clean. Well done… more

The Good: The staff are wonderful. Can't say enough about how well our questions were answered and needs addressed. While the hotel is older and the rooms are worn, it is also very clean. All aspects of our room from the bathroom to the beds to the kitchen to the utensils were clean. Well done! The beds were comfy, no sagging mattresses. Plenty of space, always good to have a fullsize fridge, a stove and an oven and a microwave and a dishwasher - all worked well. The location is wonderful. 10-12 minutes from UNC Campus, but also a Wegmans basically across the road for food needs. Plenty of parking. The lobby bar is open weekday evenings, and there is a surprising selection of liquors for a small hotel bar. We did not try the in-house dinner menu. There is also a pool table, which we enjoyed. We did not try the swimming pool, but it did look clean. The Average: the pillows were those collapsable kind and by morning you need at least 2 on top of each other; the towels were OK, not rough like some hotels; the breakfast was included but the food is only OK with limited choices. We supplemented with some of our own so breakfast didn't get monotonous. Only one waffle maker for crowded breakfasts causes a long line. At least 2 mornings the breads took forever to be re-stocked. I don't think the breakfast is staffed to deal with a full dining room. I guess if you are an early riser, it should be fine. The "could be better" - two sets of outlets in the kitchen did not work. Only the outlet where the microwave was plugged in worked, so we had to squeeze the toaster in as well. We mentioned this to management as we left - was only a slight inconvenience but still shouldn't happen. Laundry is available - 4 washers and 4 dryers on the 2nd floor. We never had to wait. 30 minute washer and 30 minute dryer cycles. $1.00 to wash; $1.50 to dry. Came in handy but it was annoying that if you chose to wash in hot water, the washer won't work. Only on cold and warm. It wasn't just 1 washing machine, we tried all 4. So obviously that's done by management on purpose - sneaky way to try to save money?

A very good stay, not 5 star excellent. Rooms need a bit of refreshing. Cleaning is a bit spotty. For example, I found a slim Jim beef jerky behind the TV. Can’t even make this stuff up. A very good stay, not 5 star excellent. Rooms need a bit of refreshing. Cleaning is a bit spotty. For example, I found a slim Jim beef jerky behind the TV. Can’t even make this stuff up. It’s decent and gets the job done if you are staying in Chapel Hill. They offer 2 bedroom suites. It’s nice to have a small kitchen and living area in between the two beds. It allowed my kids to get some more sleep as I woke up early to work. Grounds are nice. Some of the buildings need a good power washing. The highlight, Larrance, at the breakfast buffet. He is amazing. Shoutout to him. One of the best Residence Inn breakfast we have been to. Larrance was friendly and kept the food stocked so there was no waiting in line.

Really enjoyed this hotel overall. Liked the large room with kitchenette, large pool, decent breakfast was included, friendly staff. Big issue was internet connection. There is very weak signal and the free wifi isn't better. My computer kept trying to find the connection and my other devices ran very slowly. You can pay for increased speed but that feels a little like a scam.
