“great service, great location”

I held an event at the Omni in 2023 and again in August of 2024. Both times the service was great; from the valet and waiters to the events management.

We took a family vacation here with some friends - four adults and three kids. The Family Suite was great because the kids could go to sleep, and the adults could still hang out in the living room. It would have been nice to have any kind of wet bar/kitchenette - there is a mini-fridge, but no microwave, etc. The food was good at the three restaurants we tried, and the cocktails were REALLY good - not the typical "resort-y" cocktails that are mostly juice - they're well made and tasty. Service was also REALLY good - the folks at the bell desk even packed up our cars for us - next level! The only critique is that the stuff for kids feels a bit dated - the family pools and splash pad have stained floors (nothing gross - just aged). The Kids Club feels like the 90s - none of our kids wanted to hang in there, despite the really enthusiastic employees. The Arcade is cool, but again, just dated, without a lot of options. If the family stuff got a refresh, it would have been a 5/5 stay!

I am writing this review after a 10 day visit to San Diego with our 2 young adult sons. We are from New England and were looking forward to escaping the oppressive humidity and rains all summer. After 5 nights staying on the San Diego bayfront, pulling into La Costa resort was heavenly. The bright white and clean resort buildings and the immaculate fresh flowers and landscaping were just beautiful. Check in was easy and we were sent to our 2 bedroom suite centrally located and near the dining. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 had to do with very strong musty odors as soon as we got to the outdoor hallway of our building. It was also prevelant inside the suite. The moldy odor was so strong it attached to our clothing. The second strong odor came from the bathroom sinks. Very strong sewage odor, which is not pleasant. I did request that housekeeping come in and sanitize the drains hoping it would resolve, but it did not. Now, I do believe we were in a renovated suite as I vetted the reosrt carefully before booking and stressed to reservations that we only wanted to book if we were guarenteed renovated quarters (to avoid these type of odors). Thankfully, we did not encounter ants, spider webs or other issues that some reviewers reported. We took family golf lessons with Gabe. He was great and patient. I would have loved to have done some tennis clinics, but it did not work out. Had it not been for these strong unpleasant odors, we would have given it 5 stars. Special acknowledgement of Kevin from the front desk. When he saw we were from his hometown, he sent us up a bottle of wine and gourmet platter of treats. Very welcoming and nice touch! We also found all the staff warm and accomadating. I should also note that the Adult pool is 21 and over, not 18 and older, so we were not allowed to use it with our 18 yr old. (they consider that pool a bar). I would definately stay at La Costa again, but I would want to avoid the building with the strong musty smell. The views at this resort are all 5 stars, just beautiful.
