This was at least as nice as other Residence Inn’s I have been to. The staff were helpful, it’s close to the subway station, very convenient to MIT, and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Another good thing is it was on the lower end for points needed for a Marriott Bonvoy redemption.

I was looking for a quiet room for a business trip to Cambridge, MA, and this hotel was excellent for that. The room (a studio with extra couch bed) had a clean kitchenette and lots of space. It was really huge. The hotel staff were very accommodating and allowed me to park and check-in early when I arrived earlier than I had planned. There is a small shop near the front desk that sells a small range of food and other items you might expect in a convenience store setting. I did not eat at the bar/restaurant in the hotel; there are a variety of dining options near the hotel. The excellent room, service, and convenience of being in Cambridge ensure I would select this hotel again when doing business in Cambridge, MA. The only cons from my perspective are more a criticism of all hotels in Boston than a criticism about this particular hotel. Namely: hotel taxes and parking charges throughout the Boston area are, in my view, very high. Please confirm your total charges when planning a trip to Boston as you decide to visit there. No one is hiding these fees, but they may be unexpected for folks not used to paying, in some cases, about $90.00 per day in assorted taxes and parking charges on top of the room charge. Each day I paid a total of about $40.00 for four different city/hotel/tourism taxes and about $50.00 for parking. Frankly, I would visit Boston more often if it were not for all these extra fees that I don’t encounter on the same scale when I visit other cities. Again, this is not a criticism of this particular hotel, but fees like this are part of the experience/cost of staying in many hotels in Boston.

“Just fine, eat elsewhere.”

A busy hotel with a bar with a small menu at night and is attached to a Starbucks. The hotel has an ample free breakfast. Rooms have full kitchens. I was there over the weekend between Christmas and New Year. The amount of large groups traveling together was incredible. The staff is friendly and the maids are helpful. I would have appreciated better bar food but the whole grains salad was very good. Skip adding the chicken. I don’t eat grains but this was good enough that I had it twice. Needs to offer cocktails in cans.

We stayed 6 nights while visiting Boston and Cambridge and doing the usual sightseeing activities. The location is great being a block from the Kendall T station. The $22 weekly T pass is a bargain! This is a business/office area so during the week the guests were mostly business travelers and it switched to families during the weekend. Downside is a lot of the restaurants nearby close early or are closed on weekends. The room was spacious and had a nice sitting and kitchen area including a full-size refrigerator. It was nice to be able to get takeout and not eat on the bed. Housekeeping was great and the room was clean. Breakfast had a nice variety and staff made an effort to keep the eating areas clean although this could be challenging on weekends. Noise from the hallway was minimal even though we were near the elevator. However there is an active construction site across the street. Also the sink drain would make weird gurgling/dripping noises when someone was using the shower in another room. There is no door between the sink area and the bed, so this woke us up a couple of times. (Toilet and shower are in a closed room). The $25 daily destination fee is annoying. You can only apply the credit to the hotel bar that is open during the evening. We were not at the hotel when this was open some nights so we had no way of using our credit. It would be nice if it could be applied to the "convenience store" on site. Otherwise there are not a lot of amenities at the hotel to justify this fee. Overall a decent, nicely maintained hotel well located for sightseeing.
