My wife and I stayed her for the first time for three nights, June 17, 18 and 19. We had not been to Boston in 26 years and when we were here then we stayed at Copley Plaza. The harbor area had really not been developed at that first visit but it is fantastic and the Inter Continental is in the heart of the harbor area. Easy to find and very convenient to many restaurants and attractions. The hotel was very clean and up to date. The staff was super helpful especially the concierges Rob and Adam. We would definitely stay here again and we recommend it highly.

Although using points the booking was upgraded firstly using a milestone suite voucher then a double upgrade to a King Premium Suite. Fantastic. Had access to the Club intercontinental lounge which was excellent. Staff lovely and eager to engage with guests especially Chris and Carina who were happy to help. Lovely breakfast and also free pour beer wines and spirits in the evening. The canapes at the evening reception were lovely too. Did not use the swimming pool but looks lovely from the photos. Great IHG Diamond Ambassador stay.

“Great base for Boston getaway”

Very nice, roomy room, clean, quiet for the city although beware if they’re hosting a wedding (they should have a decibel limit - when you can hear it on the sixth floor, they can definitely hear it in the reception room) - the Saturday early evening concierge was a great help with touristy quest... more

Very nice, roomy room, clean, quiet for the city although beware if they’re hosting a wedding (they should have a decibel limit - when you can hear it on the sixth floor, they can definitely hear it in the reception room) - the Saturday early evening concierge was a great help with touristy questions - just remember when figuring out your costs that they add one of those obnoxious, ridiculous, bogus amenity fees to your bill (and the parking is not cheap either if you’re bringing a car) - walking distance to most everything (depending on how much you like to walk) - very close to South Bay train station

I'm always reluctant to write a negative review but feel it's warranted in this case. We booked this hotel as a little luxury at the end of our trip and we were so underwhelmed by it. Our check in was lovely and warm and the leisure area staff were fabulous but all our other encounters with staff not so warm nor efficient. No bathrobes were in the room on arrival and on contacting housekeeping got the lacklustre response of 'you can get them at the spa', later I needed a concentrator nozzle for the hairdryer (at two previous hotels this had not been a problem - both lesser star hotels) the response this time was no we don't have, when I explained what it was and that it's a usual part of hairdryers and that the spa dryers had them she said I'll check and call you back, on call back the answer was 'no we don't have'. The worst staff interaction was at the cramped breakfast area screened from construction and it's noise by a flimsy curtain - on arrival we could see lots of empty tables but the maître d'hotel said 'sorry you'll have to wait we have no tables' when I pointed out the empty tables he said I'd have to wait and go look at the buffet. When we finally got a table a couple were sat behind us one of the party had a stick and found it difficult to navigate the cramped space, I pointed this out to the same maître d'hotel he invited me to move my table forward, when like an idiot I started moving the table by myself the lady with stick got angry and told the maître d'hotel that she was taking an empty table further along and thanked me for trying to help her. While still eating another server came and I thought he was going to apologise or at least ask how was my breakfast but no he was here to ask if breakfast was included in my package and trust a Bill under my nose.... Rude. The used bowls and plates are not cleared and this makes the breakfast uncomfortable as the tables are small. Next day I took matters into my own hands and just sat at an empty table and as I used plates I put them on a side table, still got the same guy with the bill though barely into the meal (breakfast was included in my package as he'd been told previous day). There was a tray with glasses left on the floor in the corridor for 36 hours and only got moved when I placed it on a table in the lift lobby (there were children in the room opposite and I was afraid they would fall over it). The room was lovely with a big bathroom and comfortable bed, the view we paid extra for was marred by a huge expanse of flat roof under our room during the day but at night was beautiful. The setting of the hotel is fabulous, right beside harbour walks and Greenway. The spa area is beautiful with lovely warm staff and kept immaculately clean, they offer so many little extra touches too. Checkout was fast and efficient but sadly no asking how my stay was so no opportunity to highlight the negatives. We stayed in the Sheraton just prior to here and they too have construction but theirs is screened by a solid partition so you hear no noise they also in place of breakfast area offered fabulous room service with a very fast efficient service and lovely food - preferable to putting a cramped breakfast area in the lobby I thought. Both Sheraton and the Seaport provided the concentrator nozzle on request. All in all a disappointing stay.
