My friends and I stayed here for NYE, as it was a reasonably priced alternative to casino hotels. While the surrounding area is a bit sketchy, the hotel itself was great. The lobby was clean and nicely decorated. The room was spotless and looked like everything was new. Beds were immaculate, as was the bathroom, and all of the staff I interacted with were very nice. There were 2 minor issues, which is why I didn't give this a 5. First, there is a gated parking lot behind the hotel, which you can enter directly from the hotel lobby. It costs 20$ to park there. The issue is that you are only allowed one car per reservation, which seems ridiculous. My friends and I came in 2 cars, so I had to park in a different lot across the street. It didn't seem as secure, and the app to pay was confusing. Secondly, when I went to adjust the water temperature of the shower, the fairly heavy metal handle fell off. Luckily it didn't fall on my foot, but it is definitely heavy enough to cause injury. While I prefer staying at a casino hotel, it's nice to know this is here when needed as a less expensive alternative.

“Adequate, but in a sketchy area”

While visiting AC for a conference I stayed here. I arrived on a Sunday around 10AM and they told me they were packed from the night before… so much for early check-in! While visiting AC for a conference I stayed here. I arrived on a Sunday around 10AM and they told me they were packed from the night before… so much for early check-in! So, I wasted time driving the main streets in AC and then walking the boardwalk – That was quite the show… Interesting people there! Seems that during my few nights staying here, I saw many of those people staying here too… plenty of people smoking weed and smelling up the lobby and elevators. Fortunately, the room was clean, housekeeping did a nice job. The room was decent, but needing to be refurbished. The bathroom was clean. The elevators were horribly slow, especially during peak times. The staff at the desk was friendly as well. Valet were friendly, just incredibly slow, inefficient, and always backed up during the peak times, even though there were more valet personnel here than I’ve ever seen anywhere before. Speaking of valet, I wasn’t too happy to get in my car one morning to see the seat was completely declined, the radio on a station I didn’t listen to and other things adjusted… Made me wonder if they took it out for a joy ride the night before. The area is pretty sketch… I have friends who lived in the area who advised me not to walk around at night, and I can see why. I think next time I’m in the area for work (because there’s no other reason to visit this city), I’ll stay at the Sheraton at the Convention Center.

Lots of little issues….tv didn’t work well (kept pixelizing every 1-2 minutes), air conditioning didn’t work well (stayed at 78 degrees), ran out of Envoy member welcome bags, ran out of regular coffee pods for in-room coffee machine ( decaf only). When we asked about fixing the a/c and tv, said ... more

I was certain this hotel would be a good one - located amongst the high-end casino hotels is this more affordable option than staying at those high rises. It's also convenient to the casinos and beach. However, this hotel is a mixed bag of good and bad - a disappointment for this Marriott Lifetime Titanium Elite. The lobby and rooms are clean and well-kept. The room amenities are fine but there's a lack of power options for phones. When I went to charge my phone via USB, I could not find a port either in my room or in the main areas, especially in the business area. I ate two breakfasts in the hotel, and I have to tell you the Bistro personnel were among the most miserable hotel employees I've ever seen - barking at each other and staring off into space. They looked like they didn't want to be there. I was excited to have oatmeal for breakfast. (It's posted on the menu) But the chef told me they don't make it anymore because no one eats it. Well, I eat it, and I'm a hotel guest. If you're not selling any oatmeal, just make less!
