This hotel needs a refresh badly! It’s a cool hotel, the staff is awesome, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable….but this place is run down. We ate in the hotel bar our first night, I could not believe how beat up it was, completely worn out and cracking chairs, the booth side had a 3 foot piece of duct tape on the seat. One of the elevators wouldn’t go to my floor so after a few attempts to call a different elevator ended up needing to take the stairs, which don’t look like they have ever been cleaned. On the way down the hall to my room the carpet was pretty stained, leak in the ceiling onto the carpet, solid digs in the walls from carts. Entering the room was a bit better, clean and well made up. Very cool’s views from floor 42, the full window wall is really cool. The furniture is a bit beat up, the toilet kept running and when I lifted the tank lid to see if it was something I could unstick there was a towel jammed in there in an obvious attempt to fix. It’s just things like this everywhere. It’s a cool iconic hotel, hopefully a refresh is coming in the near future. As it is it’s a mid 2 star. The person I was traveling with reported the same from his floor right down to a running toilet in his room. We were there for a convention and got a great deal, and it’s certainly a fine place to stay for the right price.

Great location and views from high floors, but after that it is one disappointment after another. Extremely dirty hotel. I stayed 4 nights/5 days on the 54th floor upon getting off the elevator to my room there was a dirty Q-tip right in front of the elevator, a used razor blade and other garbage and debris, etc. these items were there the entire length of my stay. Each day I would walk by the room attendants and see them walk by these items as if they didn’t see them. There were full garbage bags often left outside my room for hours as well as debris outside more door on the carpet that looked like it had not been vacuumed in months. On checkout day I had a late checkout and the room attendant still came and knocked on my door every 30 mins starting at 8:50am. I reminded her, but she kept knocking. I had just finished a week long conference and was looking forward to catching up on sleep… so much for that. My room was tired, with stains all over furniture, rips in duvet etc. from a sustainably stand point, there were plastics wrapped in more plastic and it appeared the recycling bin just got emptied into the garbage which is very sad. Definitely a disappointing experience at this former iconic Westin which has definitely seen better days.
