This Hilton sits on the Biltmore lands that was once a dairy farm. An interesting museum inside this Double Tree awaits you. I particularly loved the horse drawn milk carriage with solid rubber wheels dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. A good number of pictures will explain this famous dairy farm, now a Hilton resort. Friendly smiles will greet you. One of the receptionists never forgot my name. Kudos to Carla and her personal professional nature. A hall mark of Double Tree is their chocolate cookies. There were hot chocolate cookies always available, any time of day. Our room was large, clean, bathroom large and AC cold. The pool is inviting and the fitness room large enough to accommodate a football team. Even though this hotel did cater to large tourists’ groups, we never felt like seconds. If you can, we would recommend paying for the breakfast package. Eggs are cooked to order. My wife’s poached eggs and my sunny-side-up-eggs were perfect. We also enjoyed the frittata’s. Coffee is brought to your table. There is also coffee is the foyer in the early morning. We did not see any decaffeinated coffee, though, for us anti-caffeine people. The one large elevator up to six floors is dreadfully slow, but doable. The scuttle-butt was that this Hilton is up for refurbishment next year. The entrance to the Biltmore Estate’s is but two blocks down the road. The Hop-on-hop-off bus also comes to this hotel. That service will save you $20 from having to park downtown. Asheville’s Art District is but a mile or two away. Even with the dreadfully slow elevator, we give this Hilton five stars. “Nice Hotel”

Stayed here during a work conference since the location is perfect by the Village. Our conference room amenities were great and the catered food was fantastic. The courtyard was gorgeous and even had flowers on the plants (in February)! Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions... more

Stayed here during a work conference since the location is perfect by the Village. Our conference room amenities were great and the catered food was fantastic. The courtyard was gorgeous and even had flowers on the plants (in February)! Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. The hotel has clearly remodeled the lobby and main areas. But the rooms haven’t been remodeled and are a bit dated. I loved having 10 pillows on my bed but the mattress was not very comfortable - it’s a pillow top coil mattress rather than a memory foam one. Hopefully soon they update their mattresses.

“Upgraded our room for "free" but then charged us”

The hotel was nice and the room was clean/comfortable. However, when I arrived they upgraded the room without my knowledge. I booked a room for 2 adults with 2 beds (we have 2 children, age 5 and 2). The hotel was nice and the room was clean/comfortable. However, when I arrived they upgraded the room without my knowledge. I booked a room for 2 adults with 2 beds (we have 2 children, age 5 and 2). The associate upgraded the room to 1 king sized bed. When I asked about the room having only 1 bed I was informed that the staff upgraded the room for free. The upgrade was added on to the pet fee, which is paid separate. I only realized we paid for the upgrade later after we were already charged. The staff should not upgrade the room and charge the customer.
