As a business traveler who spends several nights a month in hotels, the Renaissance Arlington Capital View exceeded my expectations. The personalized service provided by the front desk team was exceptional (for this type of hotel). They greeted me by name and made sure all my needs were met swiftly and efficiently, adding a personal touch that is often lacking in other mid tier hotels. The quality of the lounge is excellent, offering excellent views of the airport and DC, which provided a relaxing backdrop after a long day (most hotel lounges are an after thought with no windows). It's a great space to with a variety of refreshments and a comfortable, sophisticated ambiance. Although the room was slightly outdated, the high-end touches in the bedding and bathrooms more than compensated for it. The luxurious bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, and the well-appointed bathroom featured upscale amenities that made my stay enjoyable. Overall, the combination of attentive service, a solid lounge, and the comfort of the rooms makes the Renaissance Arlington Capital View a standout choice for business travelers. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning.

“Love this hotel but....”

This is the hotel I always stay at when in DC. I love this hotel, but it's starting to not pay attention to detail. This is the hotel I always stay at when in DC. I love this hotel, but it's starting to not pay attention to detail. The carpet in the hallways and the rooms need a refresh, and cleaning should be taken up a notch. My biggest issue during this stay was my experience in the restaurant. I always enjoy the bartenders they are always GREAT. But this time I sat at a table. The waitress (i didn't get her name but she worked Sunday evening on Nov 24th) must have been annoyed that we sat down so close to closing as she kept rushing us to order and made comments that "if you want another drink you should order now". We had no intention of holding up the staff, but we had just gotten in from a flight and wanted a bite to eat. The last straw was her taking my plate of half eaten food from in front of me without asking if I was done or if I wanted a to go box. I was not done eating. I will always and continue to sit at the bar because I've never had this treatment there. They are always nice and polite.

“School Kids Galore”

The hotel is centrally located and the rooms are clean and updated. The hotel is centrally located and the rooms are clean and updated. Unfortunately this property markets to large school groups which results in near constant lines for the elevators in the morning and evening, a loud lobby packed with school groups and the sounds of kids running up and down the halls when you are trying to sleep. The high occupancy due to school groups also means no elite upgrades. If this property wants to market to school groups, that’s all well and good but they should consider keeping school groups together on separate floors from regular guests. Unfortunately, I will unlikely be choosing this hotel again, or will at least avoid it during peak tourist season. Again, nice, clean rooms and great beds but just be forewarned about the large number of school groups. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels before early flights out of DCA and cannot think of a single one that was as overrun with school groups as this one. Maybe it was an abnormal evening, but I’d be surprised.
