I LOVE this hotel! I stay regularly in Crystal City, and tend to prefer full service hotels, but stayed here once and am hooked. This is not your typical Courtyard-The rooms are gorgeous, the bathrooms are some of the nicest I've experienced....and the rooms are always spotless! The staff is really what sets this hotel apart though! Shout out to Matthew, Evan, and Nora for taking such great care of me and making me feel special

As Courtyard's go, it's not particularly fancy or elegant, but rooms are a decent size, it's clean and well maintained and it's close to restaurants, shopping and DCA, which was most important. Although we live in suburban Maryland, we stayed overnight and parked our car for the duration of our trip and used the hotel shuttle since we had a very early 6AM flight. My only real complaint was that the water in the sink in our room flowed at a trickle, but the shower had good water pressure. Otherwise, it was a good stay and everything worked like a charm. Also, kudos to Matthew at the front desk who was a great ambassador when we checked in to the hotel.

I’m giving this hotel 3 stars solely based upon their decision to try and charge for an Elite upgrade. As a Titanium Elite, I do not expect an upgrade every time. I understand hotels may be full and may not have a nicer room available. However, I do expect to be given at least the room I booked, not downgraded to a smaller room and I absolutely do not expect being told there are upgrades available but for a fee. I had originally booked a 1 king room with a couch, however, I was given one of the few smaller king rooms with no couch, even after being told there were upgrades available for a fee and seeing on the app that not only were they still selling the room I booked but had a few different upgraded rooms for sale at time of checkin. The hotel itself is in a great location and the room was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly too. Unfortunately my experience was soured by not only being offered an upgrade for a fee but actually being given a smaller room than I had booked, in essence, a downgrade. In the future I’ll pay the $20 extra to stay at one of the other the Marriott properties in the area where they know how to treat their guests with elite status and typically proactively grant upgrades before checkin or at least give you the room you booked.
