This was strictly a cheap room to catch a few hours of sleep during a road trip. You get what you pay for. 2 big negatives for me were 1. The huge black pube stuck to the side of the bathtub and, 2. The soap in the shower left a nasty sticky film on me that I had to wash off with shampoo. The two positives were, 1. The guy at the desk was very nice. 2. The bed was actually quite comfortable. It appeared to be managed by a couple who lives at the hotel with their young children who were really loud when I walked past the door next to the office at roughly 11pm. If you’re just looking for a place to crash for a while, it’s fine

“Good, basic, clean Red Roof Inn”

As is typical of Red Roof Inns, this inn is not fancy, but provides enough amenities for a good night's rest. As is typical of Red Roof Inns, this inn is not fancy, but provides enough amenities for a good night's rest. The location is convenient to I78 and is just about a 10 to 15 minute drive from downtown Allentown. The bed was clean and the mattress comfortable. The bedspread was spotless and looked quite new. The only downside for me was that the pillows were a bit harder than I prefer. The bathroom was clean and well lit. The sink is in the bedroom area, just outside of the bathroom and offered excellent lighting. There is no restaurant in the area adjacent to the inn where one could get breakfast, but there is a Dunkin Donuts and an ihop just a few blocks away. Do be aware that if you stay here, they adhere strictly to the 3:00 PM check-in time. We arrived at around 1 PM and learned that if we wanted a room before 3 PM, we would have to pay extra. Our typical experience at other hotels is that we have been able to acquire our room earlier than the official check-in time, at no extra cost, if the housekeeping staff has a room ready. We know that this is never guaranteed, but we appreciate it whenever it is possible. For me personally, I would seek out a hotel with a more flexible approach to the check-in time on any future trips to Allentown.

“No Frills, clean room”

PROS -right of Interstate 78 -Very clean room. We had 2 Queen, incomplete renovated room. They forgot to remove painter’s tape-showing old paint color between top wall and ceiling. Dorm size fridge with freezer, microwave, one cup coffee maker. -Very well lit parking lot. Looks like stadium lights… more

PROS -right of Interstate 78 -Very clean room. We had 2 Queen, incomplete renovated room. They forgot to remove painter’s tape-showing old paint color between top wall and ceiling. Dorm size fridge with freezer, microwave, one cup coffee maker. -Very well lit parking lot. Looks like stadium lights. CONS -2 floor building. No elevator to second floor -No complimentary breakfast. 24 hr coffee though. -Renovation tools/materials along hallway. -AC doesn’t seem to work along hallway areas. AC does work in the room. -Smell of hotel owner’s local food wafted/lingered as we entered the registration area.
