My friends, my wife and I spend a wonderful 2 nights at Posada del Bosque in mid-October. We loved this quaint little boutique hotel with its friendly owners and staff. The little hotel reminds so much of the cozy pensions one finds while touring Europe. The hotel is ideally situated several blocks from the Rio de la Plata "beach" and tucked away in a wooded area that offers quiet and tranquility for travelers who like to be slightly off the beaten path. In spite of its wooded setting, Posada del Bosque in situated within a 5 minute drive of the historic "Old Town" of Colonia del Sacramento. This family owned B&B is very helpful in pointing out things to do... and how to go about doing it. Parking is limited as there are only 3 or 4 parking spots in the lot. The center of the hotel is the warm and cozy dining room/family room at the base of the hotel. Out back, one may relax on the terrace surrounded by the tranquility of Mother Nature, and fellow guests. The morning breakfast is continental style... the baked goods and fruits are fresh. WIFI works well throughout the hotel... we had minimal issues with connectivity. As far as the rooms go, our was small, but cozy, with two beds... a standard and twin-sized. The beds are relatively comfortable, and the peace and quiet offered by the bucolic setting ensures that one will get a good night's sleep. Although neat and clean, the rooms are a bit on the small size... perfect for someone traveling solo... but perhaps a bit cramped for a couple. The bathrooms include a bidet, but in all honesty, offer very little room for staging toiletries and wash-up. Nevertheless, our room served us well. Posada del Bosque is one of the more reasonably priced boutique hotels in the area. The consensus of our group, is that we would stay at Posada del Bosque in a heartbeat.

“Good environment and great service”

We booked for one night and stayed three - after our return ferry trip to Buenos Aires was cancelled after a big storm. We booked for one night and stayed three - after our return ferry trip to Buenos Aires was cancelled after a big storm. We were very pleased to have an extra two days in beautiful Colonia and in Posada del Bosque. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with rearranging bookings and other information. The posada had a welcoming atmosphere and our room was clean and comfortable with good views of the bay (complete with waves) across the tree tops. The location is a couple of kilometers from the barrio historico and the town centre - but each morning we really enjoyed the walk into the centre along the beach and the Rambla. And at night it doesn't cost much to catch a taxi back from the barrio historico. Posada del Bosque was good value and we would stay there again if we returned to Colonia.

“nice place outside of town.”

we stayed one night here and it was fine. adequate room and bath, clean, with an decent breakfast and a very helpful, friendly staff. outside of town in a pleasant residential neighborhood. easy to get to the old town by a 30 minute walk on the rambla, a $5us cab ride or a local bus from a convenie… more

“Very good”

I went there with my wife, my stepdaughter and two nephews. We liked it too much. The owners were very polite and the hotel met our expectations.
