We went to the RSC for twelfth night and this hotel has a perfect position with a footbridge in front of the hotel allowing a short walk to the RSC. We had a club room with a walk in shower on the ground floor which was perfect for us as my wife has mobility problems. The room was warm with a very comfortable zip link double bed and lovely pillows, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit basic with a very restricted continental selection and acceptable but unexciting cooked selection. However it was sufficient for us. Staff were all helpful and polite. I would recommend booking directly with the hotel as they beat booking.com etc with room prices and give better rates for including breakfast

Have stayed a few times and it's a nice friendly hotel well situated just on the edge of the centre of Stratford upon Avon. Almost all the staff are very good (with rare exceptions) and the rooms are largely nice but odd ones aren't cleaned as well as they should be (especially the refreshment trays which are often dusty). Breakfast is good but the hotels pub needs refurbishment. It's miserable.

“Avoid Suite 61, it's above the Bar and noisy”

After a BIG issue with our first room, the hotel smoothly transferred our luggage over to our new room the following day and by 10am. A BIG thanks to SAM at the reception who was apologetic for the issue that we had on our first night, it was lovely seeing Tracey as well, who we met the year before. We were impressed with the AMAZING HOUSEKEEPING services, which was constant and diplomatic throughout our stay, a BIG THANK YOU to Monika in housekeeping. As always the hotel was clean and tidy. After paying over £1K for our suite, when we checked in and discovered that our room was above the Hotel Bar, I was hesitant to even take the Suite! Sam apologised and checked to see if there was another Suite available, which there wasn't. However he reassured us that we would be moved on the following morning, we were still hesitant to take the suite but very tired after our trip, so we took the Suite. To our horror when we entered our suite there was scaffolding around the windows! What a JOKE! Around 21:00 we were awoken by the loud music and noise below us from the Bar, I went down to the reception and complained to Sam, who then told me that he could move us to a downgraded room until the next day! WHY didn't he suggest this upon our arrival, by it was too late and we were very angry. We were then woken up by the bloody builders in the morning who were doing some inspections around the scaffolding and on the roof for about an hour. What a JOKE! When we checked out of our room, not one official apology from the Manager, instead we were told that the suite is very popular but it comes with the disadvantage with the bar below! Not an acceptable solution, we were offered no COMPENSATION, not even a bottle of bubbly when we were transferred to our new suite which was lovely and quiet! Sadly no one at the hotel made a follow up with us, to check if we are now happy with our new suite. Our advice to everyone is not to take SUITE 61 it's directly above the bar which closes around 23:00, unless if you don't the noisy traffic and loud music! Such a shame, we are ongoing repeat guests of this hotel, such an awful experience when there were solutions which weren't looked at properly, as they clearly didn't want to compensate us should we had been downgraded for the 1night which is what they should had done in order to avoid this issue. Any compensation?

Stayed here last night for the first time & wont be returning. In our opinion it's not a 4 star hotel it's quite run down in certain parts of the hotel ( needs updating) we went to the hotel bar in the evening, barman rude & im not convinced he's a trained bartender, didn't know how to do shorts & ripped us off, then after ringing bell for last orders he almost threw everyone out no time to finish drinks & slamming chairs around 😡 on the plus side breakfast was lovely & our room was adequate.
