we decided to have a couple of relaxing days before Christmas and it certainly was the hotel staff were lovely. friendly welcome. changed our room for us at check in due to my mobility issues. 1st floor rooms don't have a lift, so must mention if you have any limitations. room was in an annexe building nice big room. lovely and warm on a cold day. food in restaurant was beautiful, husband had lamb shank, so much of it. ate there again our second night as so happy with standard. drinks a bit pricey. £12 for cocktail. best nights sleep as bed was so comfortable all in all a lovely stay and would return

“Nice getaway break”

Welcoming staff at the reception, dining and at the bar when we stayed one night for a party. Our bedroom was lovely and warm but it needs a little makeover to smarten it up, eg the curtains need reattachment to the rails. Disabled parking spaces need side markings to enable ease of access to car… more

Welcoming staff at the reception, dining and at the bar when we stayed one night for a party. Our bedroom was lovely and warm but it needs a little makeover to smarten it up, eg the curtains need reattachment to the rails. Disabled parking spaces need side markings to enable ease of access to cars for disabled guests. Walks from the bedrooms to the dining room are open to the elements when we were in a storm unfortunately! Enjoyable stay.

This hotel is in a great location for Stratford upon Avon and several National Trust properties. A little tired throughout but clean, and the staff were professional and friendly. Mazino in particular could not do enough for us and made our visit. The food is really good, although the breakfast buffet wasn’t very hot. The car park is badly lit, especially as most guest are elderly and have to cross it as many rooms are in the annexe. Our second visit here and improvements since last year.

“Very Disappointing!!”

Our two night stay was booked with a gift voucher. The stay was for a special occasion. We were disappointed when we arrived at reception to have to phone for the receptionist to come and book us in. Our two night stay was booked with a gift voucher. The stay was for a special occasion. We were disappointed when we arrived at reception to have to phone for the receptionist to come and book us in. We were told we had been upgraded, but our inspection of our upgraded suite was very disappointing. We had to phone to ask for more coffee pods and biscuits only one of each in our room. Disappointing array of beverages. The room was very tired, broken floor tiles in the bathroom, on inspection there were crisps under the cushions on the sofa. However the bed was clean and very comfortable. There appeared to be not enough towels so again we had to phone to ask for some, to be told they were in the wardrobe. Apparently this is an ongoing issue with guests phoning and yet they have done nothing to correct it. There seemed to be a lot of people onsite who were not guests of the hotel but were staying in the accommodation. This led to some noise issues late at night. Our breakfast was average, plentiful, as it was a buffet style. However we were appalled to see the uncut loaf which you helped yourself too being handle by guest after guest as the cut their own bread. The dining room was very tired and dated in its decor with very basic tables and absolutely no frills. We had to queue at the coffee machine and the toaster which only seemed to be able to do burnt toast, this aroma filled the dining area. In the evening, again we had to call staff over to attend to us when we arrived at the restaurant. Very little ambience. Our evening meal was nice but a limited menu choice, we had no desire to eat in the restaurant on our second evening. Overall our experience of the hotel we had access too was very tired and dated with not enough staff to offer the service that should be available for the money charged. Reading back through the reviews left by previous guests retrospectively, it would appear the management offer empty promises as the same complaints seem to be appearing again and again with responses offering problems will be addressed. Unfortunately they are not. We would not return to that particular hotel but do thoroughly recommend the area.
