I had an amazing stay at Hilton Birmingham Metropole for two nights. At the reception we were very welcome by Murat and he made ours stay very special. We had an upgraded room with an amazing view to the lake and when we get to the room, we were surprised with an welcome card and some lovely amenities. All this small touch make big difference and make you feel very welcome and appreciated. Executive Longe was amazing too, Moly and Gill are doing an amazing work and being lovely and very attentive to the Guests all the time. I really recommend this Hotel if you want to experience a lovely stay.

This hotel is one of our regulars, we do a staycation here atleast a few times a year for several years now. Having had diamond membership for several years now , we've stayed at many hilton properties all over the world, but in the UK, this has always been a favourite with the whole family for a staycation destination. We almost always get a lovely suite upgrade and the king suites at this hotel are ideal for families, with a separate living area where the sofabed is and a dining table to allow for eating in the room with children. It's perfect if you're attending an event at the NEC, resorts world or the Bear Grylls adventure parking is convenient as you don't need to pay NEC parking prices and you can walk there from the hotel. The hotel is one of only a handful of hilton UK properties that still has a pool and also has an executive lounge. There have, however, been some changes in policy that may make families reconsider their stays. Firstly the pool is now a paid extra, so for £20, 2 kids and 2 adults can use the swimming facilities for a day. This is waived during school holidays but if you're planning on making a weekend stop, it may be something to take into consideration. Until recently, the exec lounge was inclusive to kids, but it appears they have changed the policy to prevent children from entering during the evening canapé hours. This is the only reason for knocking a star off the review. It affectively penalises those with children as they cannot make use of the evening canapés. I would suggest the hotel perhaps consider alternative options for families, maybe an overspill/family area in the restaurant or arboretum where canapés are served without the alcohol or perhaps a separate family hour to accommodate those who've paid for exec rooms or have earned diamond status but have children. That being said, I would like to make a special mention to Guest relations manager Murat Ahmed who has gone above and beyond and really rescued this trip for us in what would've otherwise been a sorely disappointing stay. He is a credit to both this property and the Hilton chain. He was understanding, conscientious and ever-accommodating. He arranged for us to sit in the guild restaurant and bought canapés and drinks to us kindly enough and left a very thoughtful setup in our room for our youngest child's birthday. Thank you again Murat, your approach made us feel heard and that our feedback was actually taken seriously.
