The 2 night stay was great and memorable, all staff was helpfull and kind. Special mention goes to Ashnita where she checked us in and was very helpful. Being a hotelier myself i rate her checkin experience was fantastic and further she was present during our breakfast in restaurant as well where again she was fantastic. She is an asset to your hotel and i wish her best for future. Overall the hotel features best and i would surely come back and recommend to others. Thank you!

“Skye Trip”

Great location , Great rooms , Great Service, Great Interior Decor. Food quality is inconsistent ranging from very good to poor, requires improvement and is not currently consistent with the 2 rosette rating.

We have just enjoyed 2 nights at this lovey property and I want to specifically highlight the warm and gracious welcome and advice we received from Laura for whom nothing was too much trouble. She truly is an exceptional asset to the team. This is our first time to the Highlands-and Skye and, in retrospect, I would have booked something much closer to all the central tourist locations. As we travelled in winter, the traffic was not horrendous but I imagine travelling from Sleat to the main island in high tourism season would be most frustrating. We did not eat dinner here but enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. The breakfasts were adequate but nothing special compared to our other accommodations throughout Scotland (many of which were considerably cheaper). The room itself was lovely with views over the water although the bathroom was bizarrely laid out (probably designed by a man).

We recently stayed at this lodge, and while there were some highlights, there were several disappointments that impacted our overall experience. The Good: The staff were, for the most part, friendly and approachable. Gwen, in particular, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, providing valuable guidance on places to visit and things to do. The lodge itself was cosy and well-maintained, and the hot tub was a nice addition—though the 30-minute usage limit was somewhat restrictive. The food was tasty, and the setting had potential for a tranquil retreat. The Not-So-Good: Unfortunately, the location of our lodge was a major letdown. We’d booked with the promise of a sea view, only to find ourselves overlooking a busy, noisy car park. Every morning, we were woken early by cars arriving on the gravel drive, making it hard to get a peaceful start to the day. There were also inconsistencies with the staff’s knowledge of policies and the local area. When I initially called, I was told our £25 pet fee would cover the whole stay, but upon departure, we were charged £25 per night. We also received mixed messages about where our dog was allowed, with one staff member permitting her in the sitting room one night, and another redirecting us to the bar the next night. The Disappointing: We found the cost of food at the lodge’s restaurant to be excessive. Having had an excellent meal for £80 elsewhere on Skye, paying the same price here for just two main dishes felt like a poor deal. Breakfast, while good, didn’t stand out enough to justify its high price compared to other nearby options that offered similar quality at a more reasonable cost. Lastly, for those interested in exploring the island, the lodge’s location isn’t ideal; expect to drive around 45 minutes each day to reach popular sights. Aside from Gwen, staff weren’t particularly familiar with the local area, which made it challenging to get advice on nearby activities or walks.
