“Lovely stay”

Stayed at Clementine's for three nights and enjoyed our stay. Situated on a quiet road at the junction of Bootham and Clifton an easy stroll into York. Very clean and tastefully decorated with excellent service from all the staff. Good choice for breakfast. Highly recommend.

A weekend away for my Mrs birthday was most enjoyable. We stayed in the Yorkie suite, which was beautifully decorated. The staff are very polite and helpful and the breakfast was great. The Clementine is only a short walk to the beautiful York Minster and the Shambles etc. Although a hectic time of the year we had a great time. We will be returning to the Clementine hopefully very soon.

Myself and my wife have just had a lovely Christmas break with you. We stayed 3 nights over the Christmas period and was looked after. Beautiful room in a beautiful hotel and the ideal location for walking into the centre of York. All the staff were friendly and attentive and went far and above to make sure our stay was great. There was just a couple of issues that let the experience not be perfect, the bed in our room had a massive spring sticking out the side of the mattress which kept scratching my leg when getting up. The breakfast on the last day of our stay was not of the same standard as the ones before, eggs not cooked properly and waited for toast which arrived 15 mins after we’d finished our cooked breakfast. Also didn’t agree with having to pay to park the car in the hotel carpark when we feel that we’d payed enough for the room. But all in all we enjoyed our stay with you. Thank you.

Clementine's Guest House is a beautiful, quirky, and gorgeously decorated hotel in a fantastic location. We travelled to York to visit the Christmas Markets via train. The hotel is only a 15 minute walk from the train station, and again only another 15 minute stroll from the hotel to the centre. It's situated on a lovely quiet road, so no worry about being bothered by the hustle and bustle of the city nightlife. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room we had (Room 8) was gorgeous. We also made use of the lounge area before we left, which was equally gorgeous and relaxing. The only thing we did find not to our liking was a strong sewerage smell coming from, I'm assuming, the pipes. This was really strong and unpleasant, and with the bathroom door open, quickly made the entire room smell awful. We did want to mention this to reception as we left to venture into town, but the reception area was unmanned and despite ringing the bell, no-one arrived so we gave up. We did mention it when we checked out and was assured it would be looked into, but obviously, it was a bit late at this point. Other than the smell and lack of someone on reception, the hotel was perfect and I would definitely book to stay here again when visiting York.
