Very ideal for the Shenanigans that occurred very relaxed and welcoming. The warmth of the atmosphere allowed the 3 of us to settle our nerves before heading upto our room for the evening where we got to know each other. some what of a mind blowing experience

We stayed at Miskin Manor on a 3 night break booked through Travelzoo. It included 3 nights bed & breakfast and dinner on 1st night and was incredibly good value. The hotel itself is a lovely building and we paid a little extra for an upgraded room which was well worth the money. The room was huge with lovely views of the grounds and had a nice large bathroom. The grounds were gorgeous and we had very pleasant walks each day. The location is good - about 20 mins from Cardiff and close to other interesting areas and attractions, including St Fagans Welsh Museum which is a must see - great for all ages. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the ladies on Reception. Although the dining room staff were also pleasant, some seemed very young and untrained. The decor and furnishings were very outdated and shabby and in need of updating. The restaurant was old fashioned and the evening meal was adequate but not great. Breakfast was plentiful but quite limited choice and the quality of the food wasn't very good. There was a pleasant bar and library for a drink in the evening but a limited choice of drinks. All in all we enjoyed our stay and if it came up again at a similar price we would probably stay there again. It's up for sale and if someone buys it and spends money refurbishing and updating it, it could be exceptional.

This is review of the afternoon tea at The Miskin Manor Hotel. I booked this as a treat for a friend. The Hotel is beautiful; but the fact that it is in a transitional phase is evident. The staff were very accommodating, asked if everything was ok on more than one occasion, and we were seated straight away. We were the only people there on a Saturday afternoon. The afternoon tea was nice. Not a great deal of choice, the vegetarian option was basically all the same sandwiches. No tea choices. Not many cakes, scones a little stale. What we did have was nice enough but I am 100% sure they can do better. Miskin Manor hotel will be a goldmine with the right people in charge. I hope to return again and be WOWED.
