Lovely stay at warners my husband is gluten free and veggie the chef was superb making sure he had a great dinner each night. Harry in the restaurant sorted this out when we 1st got to Heythrop which was much appreciated, and our waiter Safeen made sure with the chef all was okay. Brilliant service and without it my husband gets violently ill. The entertainment team were absolutely incredible better than many professional singers and dancers we have seen they are a real feather in Heythrop’s hat. All in all a fantastic 3 days highly recommend.

“Christmassy Fun Break”

Fab first experience of a Warner Hotel. Beautifully decorated in festive decorations. Great facilities and lovely staff. Food was great and great activities and entertainment. Booked with spa seekers and spa treatments were fantastic! To top it off it snowed and it looked magical!

We recently stayed for 4 nights at Heythrop Park with friends. Having stayed at all the other Warner hotels this was the last one on our list and being the latest to open we looked forward to seeing what it had to offer in comparison to the rest. There is no doubt that first impressions are good. A mile and a bit driveway to the car park was scenic and first impressions of the house and grounds were good. There is a small walk to the reception points and it is slightly uphill but the grounds look really splendid and very well maintained. Our rooms were in the South wing which was classed as floor -1. The receptionist was helpful and explained to us the layout which was still slightly confusing and although by the end of the week we had figured it out there were many who didn't. The rooms were disappointingly small in comparison to many we have stayed in at other hotels. It was only classed as a standard room but it lacked seating and room to manoeuvre. The shower in the bathroom could best be described as a watering can and the fan was clogged up with dirt which meant it didn't work. It was a fair distance to walk to the market kitchen, the brasserie and right at the other end of the manor house to the swimming pool, gym and general wellness centre and the golf range. We had booked into the market kitchen for all our meals even though there were alternatives but Warner's need to better inform customers of how to book other eating venues and whether or not they are included in the price you pay. The dining experience was probably one of the worst we have ever had at all the hotels. There was a general lack of supervision in the restaurant and service was very poor. There seemed to be staff around but they were all over the place. You normally find that a waiter/waitress is assigned to your table and looks after you but not here. At one meal we had four different people serve us at one meal and we had to stop them as they were passing by to get the service we required. There seemed to be a real lack of supervision and management which started with long queues at the reception desk on arrival. The advantage of having the same table throughout your stay is you don't have to have three personnel on reception having to escort you to a table every time you enter the restaurant. Considering the size of the market kitchen the choice on offer at the self serving buffet at night was very poor and the layout considerably jumbled. Management need to introduce a better working environment for both staff and customers. The choice of two theatres here is definitely a bonus as you can pick and choose your style of entertainment for the evening. We have seen many acts over the years at Warner's, some good and some bad. In other hotels you just have to put up with it but at least here if the entertainment doesn't suit you have an alternative. Here there was good and bad. Velvet Collective were excellent whist comedian Jamie Sutherland was very poor and didn't seem to have an act or any rapport with the audience. At least the entertainment team were approachable and helpful. The leisure facilities were pretty good although the depth of the swimming pool at 0.9 mtrs is not the best to swim in. The other facilities looked good and the added bonus of a golf course (if you play) is a bonus. The hotel has a lot of stairs which makes it difficult for the disabled to get around without using lifts. It didn't affect us but the lack of wheelchairs around the hotel probably tells it's own story. Would we go back? Maybe in a few years time but the dining experience would have to have improved considerably before we did. Also there were many other problems i.e. main doors faulty and couldn't get in or out, systems going down so you had to go to reception to re-register your card etc etc. Considering this is one of the latest hotels to open there were aspects that were disappointing but the grounds are exemplary and looked after immaculately. Maybe it would be better in summer rather than autumn.
