“Great location, great staff and great price!”

Pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel was. All the staff are super friendly and helpful and our room was huge, although the bathroom was very basic and could do with a refurb! We were thrilled to be given a room with a balcony (despite it being full of cobwebs!) overlooking the river and this was great to let in fresh air on a warm weekend. It’s a shame the gardens and grounds aren’t well kept, they’re really missing a trick here. Location is great - only a 10 minute walk into the city and really is lovely to be near the water. Car park was also large, safe and secure. Will definitely return - so glad our usual haunts were all booked up as this is almost half the price!

Excellent value Premier Inn conveniently situated for the city centre and most significant tourist attractions. Reception staff ever-present and helpful. Food excellent for its price bracket. Friendly waiting staff. We had the basic room which was comfortable and quiet. A minifridge would have been appreciated; these are available in the 'premier' rooms. Wi-fi good.

“An average stay.”

We booked here for 2 nights just as a short break away. When we checked in, we asked for a room overlooking the river. We booked here for 2 nights just as a short break away. When we checked in, we asked for a room overlooking the river. We were allocated Room 402 on the second floor, and were assured this was a river view room. When we got up to the room, we found it was NOT a view over the river, but was overlooking empty office blocks and a large area of derelict ground totally overgrown with weeds and bushes! Certainly not a river view as requested. We would have gone back down to Reception to get the room changed, but we had 2 mobility 4-wheel rollators and our luggage and you can only get one rollator in the lift at a time. The room itself was spacious and reasonably clean, and the bathroom massive. The bed was too high for our liking. It was difficult for getting in and out of the bed, but the mattress was comfortable’. Rooms are only ‘serviced’ if requested when staying for more than one night. Replacement coffee sachets, tea bags, milks etc, are available in the Reception area. All in all it was acceptable, but perhaps the Receptionists should take more notice of what is requested. We did not eat at the Premier as there is a Wetherspoons a short walk away (much cheaper!) on the Riverside.
