I stayed here NYE 2024 after previous plans fell through. Warm welcome, efficient check-in process, exceptionally comfortable bed (best nights sleep I’ve had in years), clean room, and delicious breakfast. Great idea that you can build your breakfast bap, pop it in a ‘grab-and-go’ bag and take it back to your room. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Instead of travelling back home on NYD as planned, I’ve decided to stay another night haha. Really good value for money, highly recommend.

“Great value stay”

Not flash or luxury but good value warm and comfortable. Rooms are a decent size but an electric socket by the bed would be a good idea. The shower room/toilets are a masterpiece of great use of space. All told a very enjoyable stay and breakfast was pretty good as well. Dog friendly as well

“Great value hotel for an express!!”

Stayed here Christmas Eve for 2 nights. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Staff very friendly and very helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent! Great value for money! Will definitely use as base when in the area again. Thank you.

“Room without a view”

On arrival at the hotel, there were plenty of eateries near by, access was easy and the car park was huge, meaning no issues finding a space. However, for all you EV drivers...carry on and book elsewhere as they have no provision. The staff were very pleasant on reception, but did not recognise me as an 'IHG Club Member' after showing them my reservation and club card. Registering the vehicle was very easy with no in/out penalties. A nice touch by the lift were extra sachets of milk, coffee, sugar (brown and white) to add to the selection in the room (Double Standard) with pull out sofabed. The hotel and room presented very well in cleanliness and aroma, but on inspection, a few items did not meet particular standards and this was strange for an IGH group hotel. * window restrictor held in by two normal head screws was coming loose and enough playing with it would mean the window opening fully and not a good sign on the 3rd floor. * toilet section of the bathroom where the door doubled up to close off the bathroom or toilet section appeared to have benefitted from enough silicone to stick a steel aircraft carrier together - watertight! * the room had a wall mounted temperature controller, but only for upward increases via the electric wall heater and no aircon anywhere to be seen. There was though, a small table fan for when it may get hot, but to be honest all they do is circulate hot air anyway, so that is a huge downfall. * there was no information sheet as to how to use the tv and controller and no information on the rear or the door or anywhere else of the fire points or fire drill procedure. * there were two hair dryers, but the main fused option did not work but was still in the room. The other had a 3 pin plug and worked fine, so why not remove the broken one? * the drain in the shower took ages to clear away, which always means that the pipes need a damn good clean out from everyones body filth. * the mattress was so soft that myself and my wife rolled together to the middle of the bed, meaning the mattress was overdue a change. * the view from our room window was of course, not a room with a view, unless staring at drivers queueing on their way home is considered a past-time. Additionally, looking down into the car park, you are greeted with an overflowing skip that clearly should have been taken away a long time ago and some of the debris put on top of it had blown out into the car park and surrounding grassy area within the hotel boundary fence. Not difficult to tidy up given 15 minutes, but leaving a better first visual impression to visitors. * the single fresh bean coffee machine was broken in the breakfast room and the only offering was more coffee sachets the same as in room, so no enjoyment of that 1st main coffee of the day. * the breakfast staff however, were very pleasant and chatting to most of the hotel residents. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, but flawed in many many areas, which with a little effort could have allowed me to give a better rating. I am a seasoned IHG user, using them widely across the EU and so far this one is by far the poorest quality. Perhaps because it just needs a serious revamp, or maybe because of the desire to clean up the outside communal area. However, for the IHG club rate paid for one night inc breakfast @ £50, it is certainly not up to the standard of other IHG Express hotels.
