Just returned from a 1 night stay purchased through their sale rate B&B. Was impressed by the welcoming reception area with comfy sofas. Room clean with lovely fluffy towels, ironing board, handy fridge and tea and coffee, fan which was a real help as the wether was hot. Also nice loo roll which often you do not get. Drinks very reasonable and was supplied with a small jug of oat milk for the room when requested. Breakfast was good and would only suggest that a few croissants/pastries would have been a nice touch. Will definitely be back for the price!

Stayed here for two nights as part of a package with Caledonian Travel. Staff at the reception and the restaurant were excellent. Always smiling, helpful and approachable. Reception area, restaurant and public areas such as corridors appear well kept. There was a small Starbucks in the reception area which we didn’t use. The Spa was out of service but we wouldn’t have used it. Rooms were well appointed with bath and shower with excellent water pressure. TV, iron, hairdryer, kettle with tea and coffee all provided. Towels were very thick and luxurious feeling. Rooms are a little tired in places particularly around the bathroom and toilet areas. These would benefit from retiling and a little tlc. We were half board with breakfast and evening meal provided buffet style. Breakfasts were pretty typical with a choice of cereals, fruit juice and hot breakfast items including beans, tomatoes, sausage, mushrooms, black pudding, egg and scrambled eggs with tea and coffee. Fresh bread and self use toasters are available. Something extra like a vegetarian sausage would have been a good addition. Evening meals gave soup, a selection of hot items including a vegetarian option and plenty of fresh vegetables followed by a selection of cakes and gateau. Its clear when the hotels been new its met high standards of comfort. Consistent with others in a similar market which have originally been Hilton hotels have been allowed to deteriorate and slide by Hilton then sold on to Britannia like the Coylumbridge rather than invest money refitting them to maintain standards. I can only presume this has been a business decision by Hilton not to invest in hotels that don’t quite fit their current business model and instead when they become unfitting for their image they sell them on. It might not fit the image of a current Hilton. That said I’ve still awarded it 5 stars as in its price sector as a Britannia hotel it is still a comfortable hotel with great staff at a price point probably considerably less than what it would have been as a new Hilton establishment. So yes for the overall price there can be little to quibble about. Yes the building could benefit from some tlc but applying this to every room would probably cost millions and I presume Britannia will continue to run the hotel as it is and at this price point catering for the market it does I can see why. If you seek a comfortable hotel with all the expected basics covered with excellent staff all at a reasonable price then this is ideal.

On checking in we were met by the receptionist Marie who was very helpful through out our 2dsy stay , the reception area was bright and very relaxing with comfy settees , our room was very spacious the bed was really comfortable the bathroom could have been a bit bigger Bar was also relaxing drink prices were very good , as far as food goes we ordered ribeye steak but sorry it wasn’t up to standard , the staff Kay, Nathan ,Jason ,Jordan were top notch even though at times they were run off their feet serving food and clearing tables , the only fault I could find about the hotel was the £5 a day parking fee but overall a very nice stay and would definitely recommend

This hotel to us fitted the bill. The staff were very good, and the rooms were fine but in need of a bit of a refresh. Our room was a good size, but the single beds were a tad small, and there was a smell in the toilet , bath area, like a drain needing cleaned, and the door into the bathroom was difficult to negate, as it's too close to the toilet. However, this didn't stop us from enjoying our stay, with the bar having a happy time, and prices were a lot cheaper than other hotels. The breakfast and evening meals were of a good quality, which we were pleased about too. We were on a Caledonian bus tour to the Cosford Air Show for two nights, and we would stay here again if we were in the area.
