Excellent staff courtesy and service throughout the hotel. Beds were comfortable, restaurant dining was excellent in terms of quality and service, room amenities were adequate for our needs. No airport noise from outside, you can request a quiet room. Late checkout option was a convenient option. Room tip: Shower pole has a round silver button halfway up, to select either the overhead shower or the handheld one, but this wasn't easy to spot! Air conditioning/heating wasn't working so housekeeping provided an oil heater (thank you Vasco). Room doors from other guests can be noisy during the night, bring earplugs. Didn't use the 3rd party airport shuttle, got a taxi to Terminal 2, costing £11. Would definitely stay again, for the relaxed atmosphere and great service at this hotel.

“Overnight stay”

Overnight stay and parking the night before flying out on holiday. We were very impressed with the hotel, the staff were friendly, food in the restaurant very good. Comfortable nights stay, room was clean and had everything we needed. Very convenient for Manchester airport.

“Not so great stay”

We’ve used this hotel a few times over the years and it’s always been ok. We were flying from terminal 2 this time and this is some distance away - terminals 1 and 3 are much closer. This meant we needed to use a shuttle bus, something we have done before here. The hotel has had a refurbishment and the receptionist told us that after that was completed they stopped running their free shuttle bus. I’m not sure why refurbishing a building means you have to make your service worse but this is what they have done. You can still book a shuttle but via third party and at a cost. The refurbishment work on the ground floor is nice, a new bar, the old “pub” type area has gone and a smarter, and I’m sure more expensive, restaurant is in its place. The work in the rooms to be honest looks rushed and of a shoddy standard, paint and plaster marks on furniture, redundant sockets just plated over etc. it looks cheap and hurried and of a poor quality. Not the best experience and with lots of other options at the airport I think in future I’ll try elsewhere.
