We booked this hotel with a meal package nearly a year ago as it was for my dad's 80th birthday. When we arrived we weren't allowed to go to our room unless we paid. When my sister arrived with her family, they were allowed to have their room and was told to pay when they left. The service was very slow at the bar. They said they were short staffed. It took nearly an hour to get a portion of cheesy chips. Giuseppe, I don't know if he is training, but whenever we went to the bar, he would not acknowledge you until he had finished his conversation. Whether it be a guest or staff member. We ordered some coffee and tea and he had to go to the kitchen to get some milk. He had a huge jug and came back with the smallest amount. Another staff member came to the bar and checked the milk and went to the kitchen and came back with a full jug! We had to pre-order our dinner as there were 12 of us. Fair enough. But then some of our party got given a different menu when we arrived and when we questioned why it was different, we got told we could have what we wanted! The hotel is nice, staff are friendly and in general we enjoyed our stay. One thing that did make us angry is that they don't tell you they put a service charge on every transaction at the bar! Which is disgraceful. If you sign it to your room, you see the service charge and can take it off. Otherwise, you don't see it. Also, we paid for our room when we checked in and couldn't open a tab on our room. My sister didn't pay for her rooms until she left, and she could have a tab on the rooms. The whole stay was very contradicting. The food was also good, but some food did come out a bit cold. But we were a table of 12, and it did come out altogether.
