I recently stayed at the Citadines Apartment Hotel, checking in on October 9th, 2024, and checking out on October 10th, 2024. While the hotel itself was quite nice, my overall experience was impacted by an unfortunate interaction with the front desk staff. Upon arrival, check-in went smoothly, and the hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained. The apartment-style rooms were comfortable, and the location was convenient for my needs. However, the level of service I received during my short stay was far below what I expected from a hospitality establishment. During my stay, I approached one of the receptionists for assistance with a simple request. To my surprise, rather than helping me herself, she told me her colleague would assist me instead. At that moment, her colleague was clearly busy attending to three other guests. I found this response unacceptable for a hotel staff member working in the hospitality department. As a guest, I expect prompt and courteous service, especially when approaching the front desk for help. Instead, I was left waiting while her colleague was clearly overwhelmed, which gave me the impression that guest service was not a priority. while Citadines Apartment Hotel offers good facilities and a convenient location, my experience was marred by subpar customer service. Unfortunately, due to this interaction with the front desk staff, I cannot say that I was fully satisfied with my stay. I hope that the hotel management takes this feedback into consideration and ensures that their staff is better trained in handling guest inquiries promptly and professionally in the future.

“Would stay again”

We spent two nights in this apartotel and were delighted. It was spotless, modern with an extremely well equipped small kitchen that was so clean. I would definitely go back. They were doing renovations at reception but were so helpful. I am sure they will be lovely.

The note in the room asked for feedback on the new room design. I always think the folks that design new rooms should live in them for a week. So here’s what I learned: The bathroom door has a door stop so it doesn’t hit the towel rack - the glass shower door does not - it also has a spring open hinge that snaps it hard into the edge of the rack. It’s only a matter of time before that glass shatters when it hits the metal. The only shelf in the bathroom is under the sink with towels on it. All that wall space and no one thought of adding a bathroom shelf- travellers have toiletries that have to be balanced by the taps. All of the dishes on the top shelf in the kitchen are entirely out of reach unless you are very, very tall. Same with the microwave and the curtain pulls. Someone is going to get badly burned lifting hot food out of the microwave with their hands above their head. The double bars of hanging racks in the wardrobe mean you cannot hang a dress up. No one unpacks everything in their suitcase and yet there are no luggage racks available. Consequently everyone will put their suitcase on the desk. It’s gonna scratch - there is nowhere in the wardrobe for a suitcase. The glass carafe in the kitchen is useless- put in a teapot instead with some decent sized mugs. Those cups are tiny. The bedside tables are way too small - honestly travellers have lots of bits and bobs - iPads, drinks, phone, snacks- the table is more of a plant stand. Anyway, this feedback makes no difference - the rooms are done. But the design was done without considering comfort and practicality. Also, on a personal note - disappointing the bathtub was removed.
