“Solo Pod Stay”

Very clean accommodation, beautiful setting and friendly staff. I found the sofa bed slightly uncomfortable, but I am quite sensitive to thinner mattresses. I will definitely look at booking a lodge with my family, as it’s such a nice setting with lots to offer.

Visited as a family of4 last week. Caravan was immaculate and seemed pretty new. Great kids play area and some stunning Loch side views. Caravan had all amenities. Towels, tea towels, washing up liquid, soap, some tea /coffee/ milk to get you started provided unlike many caravan sites. It was chilly at times and we were warm enough as able to use central heating. Small shop on site with limited hours. Good location though the A road outside is 24/7. You can hear traffic but it didn’t impact on our stay. Friendly staff. Few mins drive from Luss and about 20 to Balloch where there is a large coop supermarket. Few downsides - website sells this as a five star site. It is untidy in places eg piles of hardcore dumped around the place, lots of weeds. Very limited phone signal (could be considered a positive !)

“Average, not luxury!”

We booked a 3 bedroom luxury dog friendly caravan for a week. I'll start with the positives. The park is nice, and there are some lovely views. The caravan was clean and comfortable. Check in was 4pm onwards. We arrived between 5 and 6pm, after a long journey. Everything was locked up, with a notice to say you had to call night security. When we called the number, we were told they were refuelling, so we needed to wait for 10 minutes or so. First of all, there was no mention of reception closing at 5pm. If we had known that, we would have tried to get there earlier. Secondly, my mobile battery was just about dead, so we were lucky to be able to make the call. Not everyone owns a mobile. And even if they do, not everyone takes it on holiday. There is no phone on site. I think it should be made clear that after 5pm, you need to call someone to check in. The park is nice, but the shops sells hardly anything. There was an empty space beside our caravan, with lots of fencing and debris. Not exactly a nice view on arrival. The caravan was OK, clean and comfortable. But the description is misleading - it was not luxury. It was one of the smallest caravans we have stayed in. The kitchen was OK, but didn't have many accessories. No potato peeler, kitchen scales, colander, soup spoons etc. There were no table mats or coasters. The breadbin wad so small it couldn't take a loaf of bread. The bin in the kitchen was broken. The table had to be completely moved every time we sat together as a family, as there wasn't enough space. In some areas, our dog had to walk backwards, as there wasn't enough space for him to turn! There were no bedside lamps in the bedrooms. There were light strips above the bed, but they weren't great. There was no hoover, just a dustpan and brush. In dog friendly accommodation, you always have a hoover! There was no WiFi and no phone signal. Not ideal. There was only 1 TV. Usually in a 3 bedroom luxury accommodation, you would have 1 main TV, and at least 1 TV in the main bedroom. Normally,, only 1 TV wouldn't matter to us, but coupled with bad weather, no WiFi, no phone signal and teenagers, it is not ideal. Our main problem was no gate for our decking area. We booked a dog friendly caravan with decking, so our dog can sit outside as well. To have no enclosed space for him was not good, and not what we had booked. We had just spent a week in a luxury lodge in the Lake District, right on the lake with amazing lakes views, 3 bedrooms, 2 this, WiFi, big rooms, all the kitchen utensils you need, huge decking area with a gate - and all of this only cost £300 more than your caravan. You simply can't describe this caravan as luxury. On our last day, maintenance men came to work on the caravan before we had even left. We were packing up our car, and they asked our son when we would be leaving - it was only about 8.30am! The price for our caravan was very expensive for what it was. A luxury price for an average caravan. Years ago, this was a family run park, with a lovely atmosphere, beautiful accommodation and friendly staff. It seems to have lost some of this along the way.
