“Very good overnight spa break, 9/10!”

“Christmas stay”

Wonderful place, setting, and the staff were brilliant. They were very accommodating for our dog who fitted right in. We stayed in one of the Junior (Littondale) suites in the old manor part of the estate. Superb views overlooking the golf course and ample space for the 4 of us.

“Enjoyable stay”

Enjoyable stay in a great hotel. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the staff were all friendly and professional. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and the evening meal was excellent in the well appointed dining room.

“Impressive Hotel but Disappointing Steak”

“I'll give it a miss next time.”

After booking I checked the reviews and saw a few disappointing reviews so was a little apprehensive however still looked forward to it. On the run up I had received a couple of emails from Q hotels to upgrade our stay but not many details about what time to arrive/how to choose our treatment etc. I contacted them and they said we chose on the day. On the day, me and my friend were unsure if we could arrive and have free use of spa facilities as we still didn’t have a time for our treatment and didn’t want to miss out, we called them again and they said they had booked our treatment for 16:30 and dinner was booked for 19:45 and we should have received an email about this, which we hadn’t but no bother at least we had a time! We arrived at around 14:00, and checked in at reception, we saw the Prosecco on the table and asked if we could help ourselves which he lady at reception encouraged. We were shown a map to our room and made our way up, me and my friend were stunned at how nice the hotel was, interior and reception space was very grande and pretty especially as the Christmas decorations were still up. We had a little time in our room and made our way to the spa, the ladies at the spa reception were very helpful, we chose which treatment we would like, were given a robe and towel (I had read previous reviews to take our own sliders as slippers weren’t provided) and shown to the changing room. The pool/jacuzzi area wasn’t the best, very dark with poor lighting and really made the place feel dingy which is a shame because it was a lovely day outside. The sauna and steam room were great, hot and what you’d expect from these facilities, no complaints! Plenty of places to sit by the pool, so we got comfy with a hot chocolate. My treatment was a back massage by a lovely lady called Kayleigh (T) who was very attentive, asked me questions on my preference and was very detailed about the massage but not overwhelming. She was very good at what she does and I couldn’t have had a nicer experience. When finished she gave me some aftercare and shown me to the relaxation room, 10/10 experience. The pool was a little busy after we had finished so we decided to go to our room and get ready for dinner. We visited the bar area first, bar staff catered immediately despite being busy and we sat waiting for our dinner reservation. Dinner was lovely, the waiter Oliver was a great character who was a pleasure to be waited by, I had the lamb and rosemary pie which was perfect! We couldn’t manage a desert but had £12 of our dinner voucher left, the staff arrange for our desert to be sent up to room service later which was a perfect end to our evening. Beds were soft and very comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep! The next morning we had a complimentary tea in the room and then headed down for buffet breakfast which was a great breakfast, plenty of fresh food and great selection. Overall a 9 out of 10 stay, pool side just lets it down slightly!.
