“Inexpensive and convenient but very tired in parts”

On arrival at the hotel the location is definitely not appealing, it’s basically in the middle of an industrial estate and the outside of the hotel looks tired. I think the hotel has recently been taken over, feels like some parts have been refurbished and some haven’t . The lounge area was nice enough, the bedroom was very basic but nice enough but the bathroom was nasty, dated and dirty. Got woken up at 6am by people shouting in the car park which wasn’t great. We didn’t have an evening meal and having sampled the breakfast I’m glad we didn’t, it wasn’t nice at all. Pretty basic offering and not well executed at all. Staff were nice, very helpful and friendly. Location is easy to get to from the motorway so convenient in that respect. Definitely a taxi ride into Liverpool City Centre which was £16 one way and £22 back but not too bad. Liverpool is a great city so will definitely be back but think we’ll try another hotel next time.

Let's start with price...at £47.50 for a double room your probably not going yo get the height of Luxury..There was a bit of peeling paint and the window catches have seen better days.but bed was comfy room was clean. Only two towels and 1 teaspoon for 4 people. The main problem was staffing in the restaurant/bar/reception....the two on duty had to do all three. Guess chef had no help as our dinner took 1 hr 50 mins to come and they only brought 3 out of four.by the time our unlucky 4th member got his they ran out if chips. Food what you expect, blend frozen pre prepped stuff. Fills a hole. We received a free bottle of wine as a make up. And there was quote a few free bottles issued. Had yo drink it out of a 330ml beer glass..they ran out of wine glasses. Breakfast was plentiful...usual buffet bacon scrambled egg good selection cereal..£7.99 for kids though makes it £38 for family of 4. Back to the two staff...absolute heroes dealing with that volume of work and issues. But the higher management should hang their heads in shame leaving 2 to deal with that workload. Virtually all rooms pre booked. They would have recouped the wages in a reduction in the free bottles of wine they had to give out. Guess hotel carries on as is...very cheap end of market...I would rebook if say I was going football..or invest and try and get rating/room price up.
