Crowne Plaza The Crowne Plaza hotel is a business hotel in the docks area. We had a four night stay here in November 2024 in room 408, a very nice suite that overlooked the water. The room had extremely fast WiFi that I measured at 124 Mbps download and 127 Mbps upload, ample for the most demanding video applications. The room we had was a small suite with a separate bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space and a good sized lounge with a pair of sofas and desks. The bed was comfortable and the room had a kettle so you could make yourself a cup of tea. The only room comment I have was that the shower was one of those inside a bath that you have to clamber in and out of. Although there was a handle near the shower there was none at the far end of the bath where you exit and no non-slip mat either. It is a long time since I did health and safety inspections at a company but this strikes me as an obvious hazard, and one that might expose the hotel to litigation should someone slip over in the bath. No mat was available on request either, and this would seem an easy thing to fix for a few pounds a room. I ended up buying one from John Lewis. There was a very good gym a flight of stairs (or lift) up from the ground floor. Unlike many hotel gyms, this was well equipped with plenty of cross trainers and treadmills, weight machines and free weights. There was also a good size swimming pool. The gym had a nice view out over the waterside. One small caveat is that the “Business Centre” is just a couple of desks and a few chairs; no computers are available, which seems to me a little odd. One reason someone might want to use a business centre is that they need internet access but for some reason don’t have access to a working computer, or maybe they need to print something. That is not a business centre - it is a small lounge area. The staff that I encountered at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The Crowne Plaza is an excellent hotel that I would happily stay at again.

This was our first stay in Liverpool and the hotel looked after us very well. Situated by Albert Dock, the Liver Building was next door. The staff were very welcoming and accommodated our every need. In fact, we found the staff service extremely good overall. The room was comfortable although the view of the main road wasn't exactly inspiring, but then, this is a city hotel within walking distance of the city centre. The aircon was efficient though we didn't use it much. Usual room amenities were satisfactory. Bit disappointed that there wasn't a heated towel rail in the bathroom. This resulted in having to use damp towels at some point. Not ideal in having to have fresh towels daily contradicting the hotel's green aspirations. The lights in the bathroom were positioned in such a way that your face was in shadow when you wanted to shave/apply make-up, despite the provision of a shaving mirror. However, the shower was very efficient! The breakfasts catered for all tastes and appetites and the evening restaurant provided great food.

Just returned from an overnight stay at Crowne Plaza Liverpool a good hotel conveniently located in the city centre. Check in and check out was easy and fast, all the staff we encountered made us feel very welcome, so professional and friendly. Absolutely loved the huge tree in the lobby such a striking feature creating a relaxing and rich atmosphere also a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Our room was a King premium with lounge access, was tastefully decorated, had a brilliant river view, a good size, well equipped amenities and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was clean with a bath shower combination but the shower experience was terrible only had a fixed shower head, awkward height, poor water pressure, and difficult to get hot, not nice at all to be in. A real shame as a decent shower is a must and this one was shockingly bad, needless to say we waited until home to shower. The club lounge is nice but small, with a good variety of soft drinks, snacks and during the evening good choice of alcoholic beverages and canapés. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection, although the hot food was nothing special items luke warm and dry, comparing from my previous visits I was disappointed as the hot food in the buffet is normally very good. The coffee was nice and the service friendly.
